Kyln Hoverbots[1] are a series of unmanned small flying machines designed as security systems within the Kyln.

New Inmates[]
Four hoverbots were used to keep the recently arrested Peter Quill from attacking the prison guards that oversaw his arrival at the Kyln.[2]
Escape from the Kyln[]
In order to escape the Kyln, Groot pulled out the prison's power source. As expected by Rocket, this caused the prison to go to emergency power. In order to get Groot to drop the power source, multiple hoverbots encircled Groot. Following Groot's outcry, the hoverbots opened fire. Groot and Rocket, who had obtained a Nova Machine Gun destroyed several of the hoverbots. Another drone aimed for Peter Quill, but was destroyed by Drax, who together with the others entered the watchtower.
A second group of hoverbots fired some shots at the tower, after which they surrounded it. Inside the tower, Rocket managed to shut off all the gravity outside the watchtower, which caused the hoverbots to fly adrift. Rocket then controlled the hoverbots to fly the watchtower out of the prison area, allowing them to escape the prison.[2]
