Make Way For... Medusa is the fourth episode of the first season of Inhumans.

Synopsis[]

The search for Black Bolt continues on Earth; meanwhile, Maximus makes bold moves to cement his status as the new ruler of Attilan.

Plot[]

Evan Declan introduces himself to Black Bolt and Sammy. Declan says that he wants to understand how their powers work and how their DNA changes. Louise Fisher and Medusa follow the helicopter. They are soon chased by cops, but Medusa shoots one of the cars so they could get away. Crystal berates Dave for running over Lockjaw. Crystal sends wind at him, which spooks Dave. He calls his ex-girlfriend who is a veterinarian. Fisher realizes that Medusa is an Inhuman and decides to help her.

At his lab, Declan realizes that Black Bolt isn't human. He then calls his boss, who turns out to be Maximus. Karnak and Jen bond as she shows him how to cut the marijuana. Gorgon escapes and walks through the jungle with the surfers. The Attilan Royal Guard follow closely behind. Maximus presents Tibor and the Genetic Council an idea to change DNA to turn Humans into Inhumans. The Council decides to not go through with this as they think it will kill Maximus.

The police arrive at Fisher's door, so the duo runs away. Fisher stops and realizes she left her model rocket in her room. Medusa decides to go back for it. When they reunite, they disguise themselves and move along. Crystal meets Dave's ex-girlfriend, Audrey, who is in awe at the size of Lockjaw. Audrey and Dave bicker over their relationship which confuses Crystal. Jen and Karnak walk along the beach and go for a swim. The two eventually kiss which Reno, lurking behind a bush, observes. Fisher and Medusa bicker about Fisher breaking the law. After the argument, Medusa tells Fisher that she likes her.

Gorgon and the surfers continue to walk through the forest. Maximus calls the Council into his room and has his guard brutally beat all of them except Tibor. Tibor asks for forgiveness, Maximus tells him he thinks forgiveness is overrated. Black Bolt and Sammy run away, but are stopped by Auran. She orders Mordis to kill him. Black Bolt spills gas in front of them so that a shot from Mordis will kill them all. Mordis is then knocked over by Fisher who is driving a car. The shot hits the gas and blows up, leaving everybody on the Royal Guard unconscious. Black Bolt sees Medusa and they kiss, finally reuniting. They kidnap Locus to help them locate their family. Karnak and Jen make out in a tent while Reno digs a grave for Ted, whom he had murdered.

The title of the episode is a reference to the title of the Inhumans-related story in the comic book issue Amazing Spider-Man Vol 1 #62.
