The New York City Live Action Role Players, abbreviated as the NYC LARPers, is a group of live action role players, based in New York City. The group holds weekly campaigns, where players are organized into two different opposing teams, the Vikings and the Samurais, that fight each other while fulfilling their missions.
History[]
In 2024 a member of the NYC LARPers named Grills obtained Ronin's Suit, believing it to be a cosplay outfit. He wore it to an event hosted by the NYC LARPers, which Clint Barton attended in hopes of recovering the suit. Barton hesitantly signed up for the club and took an outfit, fighting his way through several LARPers who attacked him. He approached Grills and demanded the suit back, and Grills offered it back in exchange for Barton allowing him to kill him in LARP combat. Barton hesitantly agreed, and the two participated in a duel which Grills won. Grills gave Barton the suit and asked if he had fun, and Barton hesitantly said that he was glad he did it.[1]
The NYC LARPers later practiced, when they were approached by Kate Bishop and her dog, Lucky. Bishop asked for help retrieving Barton's arrows, and the LARPers agreed to help in exchange for Bishop making it worth their while. Bishop took the LARPers to her aunt's apartment, and became friendly with Bishop while Grills made snickerdoodles. Barton arrived while Wendy Conrad went to retrieve Barton's arrows, and was upset at the LARPers' presence in the apartment. Missy had Bishop try on a costume she made, and Bishop complimented. Bishop suggested that Missy could make her a Hawkeye Suit, and Grills came up with the suggestion that they would do it if they got the materials in exchange for retrieving the arrows. Conrad brought Bishop the arrows.[2]
The NYC LARPers agreed to help Bishop and Barton to protect Bishop's mother from the Tracksuit Mafia, going undercover as caterers at a party. When Kazi Kazimierczak began firing at the party, the LARPers attempted to guide people out of the building safely. Orville attempted to secure Bishop's mother, who was missing. The LARPers went outside Rockefeller Center to guide people to safety, but found that they were not listening. They decided to put on the LARP gear, which caused them to be able to guide people to safety better. They were attacked by several members of the Tracksuit Mafia, and fought them off with help from Jack Duquesne. After the battle, Missy offered Duquesne to join the NYC LARPers, and Duquesne expressed interested.[3]
