History[]
Sakaar's Formation[]
As wreckage was created during the wars between the Kree and Xandar, as well as dead Celestial body parts and derelict spaceships, a city was formed on the planet Sakaar.[1]
Grandmaster's Contest of Champions[]
The Grandmaster colonized Sakaar and began hosting a Contest of Champions on the planet. It became populated with scrappers and civilians who enjoyed watching the champions. In 2015, Hulk arrived and joined the Contest. Two years later, Thor and Loki arrived on the planet, and Loki gained favor with the Grandmaster while Thor was captured and imprisoned, forced to join the Contest of Champions. Thor, Loki, Hulk, and Valkyrie planned their escape and helped Korg lead a revolution against the Grandmaster, giving them the opportunity through the Devil's Anus. The Grandmaster was overthrown and several members of the rebellion went to Asgard to help fight Hela.[2]

Timeline Bomb[]
During the Bombing of the Sacred Timeline, Sylvie Laufeydottir bombed an alternate timeline Sakaar, located on the Tayo System, in 1984.[3]
Age of Ultron[]
In another universe, Sakaar was attacked by Ultron and his Sentries. Korg, Roscoe and the other gladiators fought back but were ultimately killed as the Grandmaster watched in horror.[4]
