"Well, if fate does want you to kill that crapsack, you're gonna need more than one stupid eyeball."
―Rocket to Thor[src]

Thor's Prosthetic Eye is a cybernetic prosthetic eye given to Thor by Rocket as a replacement for Thor's right eye, which had been gouged out by his sister Hela.

History[]

Acquisition[]

"Some jerk lost a bet with me on Contraxia."
"He gave you his eye?"
"No, he gave me a hundred credits. I snuck in his room later that night and stole his eye."
―Rocket and Thor[src]

While Rocket visited Contraxia, he won a bet for one hundred credits with one of the residents. Having taken an interest for the individual's cybernetic eye, Rocket later broke into his room and swiftly stole the prosthesis before leaving Contraxia. However, the only way he could smuggle it off Contraxia was to hide it in his rectum.[1]

New Owner[]

"I don't think this thing works. Everything seems dark."
"It ain't the eye."
―Thor and Rocket[src]

When Rocket and the rest of the Guardians of the Galaxy met up with Thor after his ship was attacked by Thanos and made plans, Thor, Rocket and Groot went to Nidavellir with the Benatar's Space Pod. During the journey, Thor explained that he was determined to kill Thanos in revenge for the massacre of his people. In order to help him, Rocket gave Thor the eye he had stolen in order to replace the one Thor had lost to Hela.

Thor put the prosthesis in his eye's socket, much to Groot's interest, although Rocket told Thor that he should have washed it first due to how he had to smuggle it out of Contraxia. It took some seconds for the eye to adapt to Thor, granting him sight, although Thor firstly mistook the darkness of Nidavellir for a sign that the cybernetic eye did not work properly.[1]

By 2025 Thor had converted the eye's color from brown to match his left blue eye.[2]

Capabilities[]

  • Sight: Upon being placed within the user's eye socket, the eye immediately adapts to their biology regardless of the severity of prior damage, granting the user sight.
  • Enhanced Durability: The prosthetic eye was shown to withstand numerous amounts of severe methods. After arriving at Nidavellir, Thor was hit across the right side of the face by Eitri the Dwarf with superhuman strength which caused it to sustain no kind of damages to his new eye, and when attempting to keep the forge open for the Stormbreaker to be created, Thor had held it open long enough for the heart of the dying star to heat the Uru and over his body which nearly killed him, but was fully revived after the weapon was wielded allowing both him along with the eye still fully functional.
