This world has gone through many Dusks, and is slowly nearing its end. Within this world, in the western reaches of the Land of Dusk, there was a nation that prospered thanks to its use of alchemy. There, in order to survive the eventual arrival of the Dusk End, the people devoted their efforts to rediscover and recreate lost alchemical technologies. Rediscovered technology from the past era was gathered in the alchemy research city known as Central, where research was conducted on how to halt the advance of the twilight:
Escha, a girl living in a small town on the frontier, is in the process of using her knowledge of ancient alchemy to help others. She was assigned to the Development Department. Logix is a young man researching alchemy in Central. Having learned the newest alchemical techniques, he requested a transfer to this understaffed town to make use of his abilities, where he meets Escha when he is assigned to the Development Department as well.
The two make a promise to use their alchemy together, and bring success to the Development Department... and help their fellow man.

I have not played the video game, so I'm not sure how the game compares to this series; however, this RPG based series is very light hearted and slow. I'd only recommend this series to those that play and enjoyed the game.

If you follow the Atelier series of games, this is a must watch. Light hearted series with a slight hint of romance. Character designs are great and personalities are very lovable.

A calm relaxing anime pretty fun to watch I love atelier rpg series! i really recommend this for fans only thought since its not a really an anime more like a rpg based game.
