Ayane was born into the Mizuki family without any colouring. As an albino she has been taken care of by Chikage, a snake deity and protector of the Mizuki's land - because she's just the same as him. Ayane is being overly protected by Chikage, who actually only tries to fulfil her desires. She is the last living member of the Mizuki family.
