Ella T. Grasso (born Ella Rose Giovianna Oliva Tambussi 10 May 1919 - dead 5 February 1981) was a politician of the Democratic Party of the United States. She was the first female Governor of Connecticut and served as such from 1974 until 1980, when she resigned because of an ovarian cancer which caused her death in 1981. She had also served as Secretary of the State of Connecticut and as Representative for the said State.
