wlm-se-forn
Hi. The lists for wlm-se-forn are now on wiki, in the main namespace. There should be slightly less than 150,000 entries. Give me a shout if there are any problems with the harvesting. /Lokal_Profil 23:09, 29 August 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks. I see that the database is named "se-fornmin" rather than "se-forn" does this mean that the upload campaign needs to be renamed as well or can it retain its current name./Lokal_Profil 18:05, 30 August 2012 (UTC)
- Ah, that made us break the magic 1 million items barrier! Yes, please rename it to match the database. Multichill (talk) 18:09, 30 August 2012 (UTC)
- Nice =). Campaign now renamed (assuming these things will percolate through to the Android app as well). /Lokal_Profil 18:58, 30 August 2012 (UTC)
- Just found out that "se-fornminne" got truncated to "se-fornmin". Fixed the database so that se-fornminne fits now, but that means you have to rename it again. Sorry about that. Multichill (talk) 19:12, 30 August 2012 (UTC)
- And reverted it, key became too long. So now truncated to 10 chars: So wlm-dk-bygning, wlm-dk-fortids and wlm-se-fornmin. Multichill (talk) 19:42, 30 August 2012 (UTC)
- No worries. A better name would probably have been wlm-fmis but we can deal with that once the competition is over and it's less likely to break stuff.
- Since most of the se-fornmin objects lack a name we instead display a combination of two/three parameters in the name column on sv.wiki. Would it be possible to tell the harvester to match the database name-entry with a combination of parameters in the FMIS template? Ideally we'd use the same one i.e.
- {{#if:{{{artikel|}}}|[[{{{artikel}}}{{!}}{{#if:{{{namn|}}}|{{{namn}}} ({{{raä-nr}}})|{{{raä-nr}}}}}]]|{{#if:{{{namn|}}}|{{{namn}}} ({{{raä-nr}}})|{{{raä-nr}}} }} }}
- but at the very least something like
- database-name={{{namn|}}} ({{{raä-nr}}})
- /Lokal_Profil 11:29, 1 September 2012 (UTC)
- Have now also added region-iso to all headers (FMIS-huvud). /Lokal_Profil 16:15, 1 September 2012 (UTC)
- Awesome! The adm1 statistics should be much better tomorrow! Multichill (talk) 16:31, 1 September 2012 (UTC)
- Sorting out Denmark's adm1 now. BTW, was the database-name combined parameter thing something possible or not? /Lokal_Profil 17:05, 1 September 2012 (UTC)
- Ooooops, we had a collision at https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=39888 . Figured it out and updated the bot. We do need to do edits like [1] and [2] to get it populated. Multichill (talk) 17:07, 1 September 2012 (UTC)
- OK. I'll stop my bot work then (was only adding iso-region not kommune). Just be aware that there will be some lists that now have region filled in already. /Lokal_Profil 17:27, 1 September 2012 (UTC)
- Maybe you can add the kommune in a second pass? Just use the page title. Multichill (talk) 17:35, 1 September 2012 (UTC)
- (edit clash)Also there are three lists which don't belong to any municipality (and thus no region). These are Ertholmene: bygninger + fortidsminder and Danmarks søterritorium. /Lokal_Profil 17:46, 1 September 2012 (UTC)
- I just used AWB to add the regions. Don't think I can access pagetitle within the AWB framework so if you have a working pybot then just run with that. /Lokal_Profil 17:46, 1 September 2012 (UTC)

- Realised that this got lost in the adm1 discussion above. Was the combination of parameters into the name parameter of the database something which was possible or is it strictly a one-to-one mapping? It's just that as it stands people using the map only see the id (14 digit number) and the municipality. In the Android app it gets even worse as the list view primarily contain empty lines and the map view contains lots of empty "speech bubbles". If parameter combination is possible then I'll see if I can come up with a pattern which is even more informative than the ones mentioned above. /Lokal_Profil 11:46, 2 September 2012 (UTC)

dummy images for cultural heritage monuments (in AT)
Hi Multichill, your ErfgoedBot adds ids to dummy images (all categorized in Category:Wikipedia image placeholders for cultural heritage monuments) (e.g. this edit). Please undo and stop this. Thx. --Herzi Pinki (talk) 22:38, 31 August 2012 (UTC)
- Ah, a category, that's something I can work with. I'll add a check to ignore images in Category:Wikipedia image placeholders for cultural heritage monuments. Multichill (talk) 11:53, 1 September 2012 (UTC)
- Maybe we can mark the dummies, and something like {{bots|deny=ErfgoedBot}} will help? --Herzi Pinki (talk) 12:50, 1 September 2012 (UTC)
- No, no, no, just add Category:Wikipedia image placeholders for cultural heritage monuments and I'll modify the bot to don't tag these images. Multichill (talk) 12:58, 1 September 2012 (UTC)

Czech cultural monuments
All pages from cs:Wikipedie:WikiProjekt Wiki Loves Monuments/No commonscat have "commonscat" now. You can run the bot again (to search possible new lists without commonscat) and run the categorizing. I hope, the bot will avoid overcategorization as much as possible. --ŠJů (talk) 01:24, 8 September 2012 (UTC)
- 9 left in Category:Cultural monuments in the Czech Republic. Multichill (talk) 11:06, 8 September 2012 (UTC)
- Thank You. As I understood, the bot will be everyday sort new images, it's so?
- Some of monuments have their own category (linked in its row of the list) but the category isn't categorized into category of cultural monuments of corresponding district or city. Would the bot able to categorize all listed categories into the commonscat of the list? --ŠJů (talk) 16:29, 8 September 2012 (UTC)
- Hmm, the information is there but I would have to write something new. I have to think about that. I think this should be part of more general category tree consistency checks for example if a category/image is tagged with a id template ({{Rijksmonument}}) it should be somewhere in the tree under the base category (Category:Rijksmonumenten). At least some if not many of these images seem to me to be unrelated directly to the category. eg File:Starr 030716-0126 Dodonaea viscosa.jpg. Are you able to confirm they've been deliberately categorized as such or am I missing something? Moondyne (talk) 05:43, 8 September 2012 (UTC)
DR issue
Hi Multichill. Another user, Perhelion has taken issue with some DRs that you voted on and I kept. See User talk:INeverCry#Selective kept without explanation. I recommended he talk this over with you. INeverCry 17:34, 8 September 2012 (UTC)
- Oh yes, interpretation of in scope (switched my thread here). Hello Multichill, your words as an experienced admin has more weighty consequences, for concrete example on my DR. So I beg you for an answer of my question. In fact the same DR from this day without your (but my) comment are deleted or be open (and always before you). Just as it may be, I want to understand your comment. Because I don't want this project is a waste of time and energy, because some policies are interpreted completely arbitrarily. Autocategorizations of monuments creates overcategorization
Hi Multichill, whoever had it, it is a good idea to add municipality related categories to uploaded images automatically. Thanks for that, it saves a lot of work. One minor hint, maybe you can fix it. Your bot somehow overcategorizes images (e.g. this one) when there is a separate category for the monument. Thus if the image already has a category categorized in the Cultural heritage monuments in Austria tree, the image itself should not get the same category again. Can you please modify your bot to this aspect and hopefully undo the overcategorization your bot created (at least list it). Still there is the manual work of creating new categories for monuments if there are more than few images. You doing a great job, thanks --Herzi Pinki (talk) 21:35, 10 September 2012 (UTC)
- at least I wanna be sure that when I remove the overcategorization, your bot will not add it again. --Herzi Pinki (talk) 21:40, 10 September 2012 (UTC)
- Hi Herzi Pinki, I wrote documentation at Commons:Monuments database/Categorization. Bot only works at the root categories for now. I'm planning to add more advanced filtering features. For this I had to do a database update. Damn, that's sloooooow:
multichill@willow:~/queries$ time mysql --comments < fresh_cats.sql COUNT(*) 6247407 real 467m44.596s user 0m0.003s sys 0m0.009s
- This powers http://toolserver.org/~multichill/filtercats.php . This web interface is used by the categorization bot to get rid of overcategorization. More to come! Multichill (talk) 21:24, 11 September 2012 (UTC)
Hi. I noticed the same problem with overcategorization. At the monument list page Seznam kulturních památek v okrese Žďár nad Sázavou, "Zámek Radešín" (24284/7-4373) have properly linked commonscat Category:Zámek Radešín. However, ErfgoedBot ignored it and overcategorized images into the global commonscat of the list. What a pity. I thought (as I understood your previous information) that this functionality was resolved already. I hope for the next year, all will be more elaborated! Thank You for all your effort. --ŠJů (talk) 22:52, 11 September 2012 (UTC)
- Hi, Maarten. If you are planning a more precise categorization, lists on cawiki have a parameter "commonscat" with individual category for the monument, if it exists. It is intented for include a link "see more photos of this monument". I'm not sure if this parameter is included in the database or if other lists on others wikis use this approach, but it could be helpful. --V.Riullop (talk) 14:46, 12 September 2012 (UTC)

New banner in pseudo-luxembourgish
Hi Maarten, (please transmit request to who it may concern if it is not you, in which case I appologise for bothering you with it): A new banner appeared yesterday which looks like a parody of a translation attempt into something that should look like luxembourgish - but unfortunately is miles away from being so. (See Commons_talk:Wiki_Loves_Monuments_2012/CentralNotice#Banner_text_in_Luxembourgish). Could you (or someone else) urgently look into this matter? Thanks! --Zinneke (talk) 08:50, 21 September 2012 (UTC)
Rename lots of files
Hi Multil, Rillke told me you could eventually help me to rename these files. thx--Sanandros (talk) 08:09, 24 September 2012 (UTC)
Thanks to have made me to create that entry. In fact I am a frequent reader of all discussion pages on every wikiprojects for the only reason to create such articles on the Wiktionnaire. So... just thank you.--Aʁsenjyʁdəgaljɔm11671 21:20, 24 September 2012 (UTC)

Please disciuss your changes
Maarten, I would very much appreciate it if you stopped acting like you own the monument images and the templates that go with them and start discussing any changes before you make them. Thank you for understanding that we put a lot of work into this project and we want to offer the best available information to our users. BTW, as expected, your robot has stopped replacing categories 3 days ago. Please make sure it runs again and continue to run after 10/1.--Strainu (talk) 20:46, 29 September 2012 (UTC)
- You really need to watch your language and stop insinuating things. Your continued attacks against my person are not appreciated. Multichill (talk) 20:59, 29 September 2012 (UTC)
- Your repeated actions against that template are appreciated even less. The link you're using is neither in English nor Romanian, it's both parsing wikitext and showing it and, more importantly, it doesn't fit in a decent screen size. If you want to help, redirect the user to the original page or at least make a reasonable (and i18n'ed) page. If you're not willing to do that, stop editing that template. If other people are happy with your actions, I am extremely unimpressed and will not let any of this nonsense pass without reacting.--Strainu (talk) 15:39, 30 September 2012 (UTC)
