Professor Haimann served on the boards of St. Mary's Health Center in Richmond Heights and Cupples House at St. Louis University, and he was a consultant to the Catholic Health Association for about 20 years.
He was the author of numerous books on business and health-care management.
Professor Haimann was born in Koblenz, Germany. Before coming to this country in 1936, he earned his doctorate in international law at the University of Bonn and a master's degree from The Sorbonne in Paris. He also earned a master's degree in business from Washington University.
