I am a Dutch biologist who is currently living in Leuven, Belgium, where I recently obtained a doctorate in science. I’ve been seriously wasting time on photography since 2004 and I love to travel around and take pictures of all the beautiful sites I see. These photographs have found their way to a number of places on the internet such as Panoramio and the Belgian site Erf-goed.be.
In 2010, my attention was drawn to the Wiki Loves Monuments project via the latter site and I have periodically uploaded relevant photographs to Wikimedia in the hope that they will serve some use in helping Wikipedia users learn a little more about the Dutch architectural heritage. From 2011 onward, I have also started to include photographs taken in Belgium, hoping to share the beauty of Wallonia and the remaining examples of interesting architectural heritage in Flanders, and other countries participating in the WLM contest.
I had been active in the Wikipedia community in the past, altering or writing new articles, c. 2007. In the future I hope to expand the scope of my contributions, not only competing in Wiki Loves Monuments, and making a more substantial contribution to Wikipedia itself. A selection of my submissions can be found at my Wikimedia user page, as well . A more extensive overview of my uploads can be found here.
