Sarbesh Das Dangol (Nepali: सर्वेश दास डंगोल) (Born on 29 October 1989 in Kathmandu, Nepal), is a Nepali scientist, faculty at Central Department of Biotechnology Tribhuvan University, Founder at Nhugen Biotech and a scientist at Nepal Plant Disease and Agro Associates. He has received one of the most prestigious awards given in Nepal by the federal government of Nepal, the Nepal Bidya Bhusan Padak 'Ka'.[9][10][11] He has also received notable awards such as "2022 Distinguished Service Award" awarded by Society for In Vitro Biology[12] and the "2023 President's Award" by Society for In Vitro Biology. [13] He is also a member at Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST)- Young Scientists Forum Nepal (YSFN).[14]He is working on potato and rice genome editing in Nepal, the first ever genome editing study in Nepal. The most notable works of him is the successful transformation of wild diploid potato Solanum chacoense M6 using gusA reporter system via Agrobacterium strain GV2260. Moreover, his work has also used five Agrobacterium strains to optimize plant transformation efficiency in Solanum chacoense M6. Sarbesh Das Dangol was born on 29 October 1989 to his father Sarbottam Dangol and his mother Shanta Dangol. He received a Bachelor of Technology in Biotechnology from Kathmandu University, Nepal, Master of Technology in Genetic Engineering from SRM University, India and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Agricultural Genetic Engineering from Nigde Omer Halisdemir University, Turkiye.[30] [31]
