... that after failing to win the 1967 North Sumatra gubernatorial election, Roos Telaumbanua (pictured) was nominated for vice governor, but also failed and caused protests from youth groups?Source: Bukit Barisan, 7 February 1967; Mertju Suar, 30 March 1967; Duta Masjarakat, 4 April 1966; Mertju Suar, 3 April 1967; Mertju Suar, 4 April 1967

- This article is new enough and long enough. The image is in the public domain, the hook facts are cited inline, the article is neutral and I detected no copyright issues. A QPQ has been done. Personally, I would leave out the youth groups from the hook as the article only mentions the matter in passing and does not state why the youth groups disapproved of him. - Hi, I came by to promote this, but the article needs some copyediting for English grammar. It's also not clear if one or more representatives were involved in the Telaumbanua affair. The Background section also needs a cite per Rule D2. The hook wording needs some improvement; the word "caused" is not being used correctly. Yoninah (talk) 00:15, 3 November 2020 (UTC)
- 📙 Grammarly to the rescue! Regards, Jeromi Mikhael (marhata) 00:27, 3 November 2020 (UTC)

- @Jeromi Mikhael: are you returning to this? The lead is too short; it should at least include the outcome of the election. The first section should be written in past tense rather than present tense. That's as far as I got. Yoninah (talk) 21:48, 8 November 2020 (UTC)
- @Yoninah: Thanks! Lede fixed. Which section should I change? Regards, Jeromi Mikhael (marhata) 13:18, 15 November 2020 (UTC)
- @Jeromi Mikhael: OK, I edited the whole article for you. ALT0 is not accurate according to the article; he didn't "fail", but was invalidated. IMO this hook is very geocentric and won't appeal to people outside Indonesia. You have other good information in the article for building a hook. Like:
- ALT1: ... that when news reporters were accused of trying to force the outcome of the 1967 North Sumatra gubernatorial election, one of them said he was prepared to be shot if found guilty? Yoninah (talk) 20:02, 15 November 2020 (UTC)
- ALT 1. That would also be good.Regards, Jeromi Mikhael (marhata) 05:36, 16 November 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks. Since it's your hook, you can't approve it; I replaced your approval icon with a "yes" icon. Pinging original reviewer Cwmhiraeth to take a look at ALT1. Yoninah (talk) 12:52, 16 November 2020 (UTC)
- Approving ALT1. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 14:04, 16 November 2020 (UTC)
- @Cwmhiraeth:, you know you could use the green tick right? Because all but one source is in English and online. Regards, Jeromi Mikhael (marhata) 00:04, 17 November 2020 (UTC)
- I was going to use a green tick, but I saw my original tick was grey so I thought I had better stick with that. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 06:01, 17 November 2020 (UTC)
