Gérard Rinaldi

He is described as 'French Comedian' which is a total mistranslation of the French 'comédien' which means a 'light actor' as opposed to a 'tragic actor'. He was a musician and comedy actor, not a stand-up comedian. Williamgeorgefraser 11:24, 4 March 2012 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Williamgeorgefraser (talkcontribs)

Josie DeCarlo

edit

Her entry on the Deaths page was deleted - I am not disputing the reasons or the deletion - I would just like some clarification on standards for which it was deleted. While notability is not inherited, and I understand that, I only added her due to the additional fact she was the inspiration for "Josie and the Pussycats" which is somewhat greater significant. I felt in combination with being mentioned on husband's Wiki page and the other connection to pop culture raised her to a higher level. I also know that when I deleted a notice of a High School football player who absolutely did NOT meet notability standards, I was informed that I should leave it listed as there are thirty days to take a person of questionable notability to make a Wiki page to prove the case or it is deleted after thirty days. I would appreciate some guidance on what is acceptable to remove and what isn't as it all helps me be a better editor in the long run. Thanks OneHappyHusky (talk) 20:38, 18 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

The entry was deleted by an editor who did not understand the one-month "amnesty", however, I doubt that Josie DeCarlo would ever qualify for her own article. There's no "rule" here, which makes it difficult to achieve and maintain consensus. My thoughts are that any redlink with the potential for an article (Greek actor, Japanese politician etc) should remain, whereas a person with no hope of an article (high school football player) will never have an article and may as well be deleted immediately. I know that's subjective, so I tend to overlook all redlinks for one month, apart from obvious ones like this. WWGB (talk) 01:13, 19 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
I think Josie DeCarlo does deserve at least a mention here (but not her own page), as well. From the articles I have read, all that she was notable for was being an inspiration for the character and continuing to promote her husband's work after his own death. Admirable, but not notable enough for an article. As an Archie comics fan and a sucker for catsuits, I still mourned her passing. — WylieCoyote (talk) 20:37, 21 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

The source on his page dated the 24th, says he died "last night" ie the 23rd.-Kiwipat (talk) 04:30, 25 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
