WikiProject Philosophy
Welcome
Welcome to WikiProject Philosophy. A WikiProject is a group of pages in the "Wikipedia" article namespace which are devoted to the management of a specific topic or family of topics within Wikipedia; and, simultaneously, a group of editors who use those pages to collaborate on encyclopedic work. It is not a place to write encyclopedia articles directly, but a resource to help coordinate and organize the writing and editing of those articles. This group focuses on articles in the broad field of Philosophy.
Goals
The scope of WikiProject Philosophy is all articles related to the academic field of philosophy.
The overarching goal of WikiProject Philosophy is to find and identify all the notable ideas, people, and literature in the field of philosophy, formulate high quality articles about them, and make them available to the world. Toward this end, our specific goals are to
... improve the quality and range of Wikipedia articles on philosophical topics. We shall do this by
- ... assessing articles consistent with guidelines on the assessment page.
... provide a framework for consistency in appearance and navigation within the project's subject. We shall do this by
- tagging all articles relevant to the project with the {{WikiProject Philosophy}} banner.
... build a community of contributors. We shall do this by
- recruiting new members,
- recognizing and appreciating excellent contributors with the Star of Sophia

The following is a listing of articles (and other types of content) within the scope of the project that have been noted for their outstanding quality. Project members are encouraged to peruse these at their leisure, as they serve as excellent examples of different writing and organizational styles that one may wish to emulate.
Please note that the project does not necessarily claim authorship or credit for creating these. While many were written by members—sometimes with extensive input from the project as a whole—others were created by uninvolved editors, or predate the existence of the project itself, and are listed here merely because they fall within our scope.
This is a list of recognized content, updated weekly by JL-Bot (talk · contribs) (typically on Saturdays). There is no need to edit the list yourself. If an article is missing from the list, make sure it is tagged (e.g. {{WikiProject Philosophy}}) or categorized correctly and wait for the next update. See WP:RECOG for configuration options. |
