Richard (d. 1853)'s brother, Rev. Robert Stephen, father of Maria Thompson, married Sir James Walker, Bt. Sir Harry's daughter Elizabeth Lucy married Walter Northcote, son of Sir Stafford Northcote, Bt. Richard Thompson (d. 1713)'s great-grandson Capt. Edward Thompson, RN (b. 1738) edited the works of Andrew Marvell. He married Sarah Boulden and his son was Admiral Sir Thomas Boulden Thompson, Bt, GCB, treasurer of Greenwich Hospital, knighted 1799 for services at the Nile. His son, by Anne Raikes, was Sir Thomas Raikes Trigge Thompson, 2nd Baronet. Etc.

The son of Henry Thompson and Mary Beilby was Beilby Thompson (d. 1750), High Sheriff of Yorkshire 1731, who by his marriage to Sarah Roundell (d. 1773) had Beilby Thompson (1742-1799), MP for Hedon 1768–1780 and Thirsk 1780–1784, Richard Thompson (1745–1820), High Sheriff of Yorkshire 1801 and Jane Thompson.

Paul Thompson, 1st Lord Wenlock had issue: Beilby, 2nd Baron Wenlock, Lord Lieutenant of the East Riding of Yorkshire and Colonel of the Yorkshire Hussars, Robert Neville, Captain in the 2nd Life Guards, married Georgina Emily, youngest daughter of General Lord Edward Somerset, Francis Charles Lawley, MP for Beverley 1852–1854, and Jane, married Rt. Hon. James Stuart-Wortley, MP in 1846.
