Why John Hawkins?

Good question! Honestly, I made this account before I realized that John Hawkins was a slave trader and overall piece of crap. The origin of this username was an inside joke between myself and a friend. We used to play Civilization V hotseat. As any good Civ V player knows, a Great Admiral is pretty much useless aside from providing a small combat bonus to the surrounding navy. So during times of peace, I utilized my Great Admiral, named John Hawkins, to explore the map. The legend of John Hawkins, Explorer Extraordinaire, slowly evolved as the hotseat session went on. At the game's conclusion, I felt that I could not simply let the legend die. So here we are: I browse and edit Wikipedia with a username that invokes a racist and a bigot. Too late to go back now :(
