Tree shaping

There is a proposed Topic Ban for Blackash and Slowart on Tree shaping related articles at the Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents As you have had some involvement with these editors in question, you may wish to comment. Blackash have a chat 00:49, 11 March 2011 (UTC)

i have read the last few edits of this page and this one seems more accurate then the one you replaced it with. not sure why you would revert to a less accurate edit? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.11.72.116 (talk) 05:25, 14 March 2011 (UTC)

Deletion - Kim Rudd

Did I fix it correctly? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dwakely (talkcontribs) 03:09, 27 March 2011 (UTC)

Sure. Thanks for adding sources; it's especially important to use that all biographies of living people (WP:BLP) have sources cited to confirm the accuracy of our information. Zachlipton (talk) 03:18, 27 March 2011 (UTC)

OruxMaps Android App

I've added a sentence to the Oruxmaps wiki page with some stats, and asked some related questions on the Talk:Oruxmaps talk page. Thanks for the note about your deletion proposal on my talk page. Since I seldom check there, I'd like to keep OruxMaps discussion on that talk page. If you decide to just proceed with deletion, I'd like to be more clear on your motivations. Jw4nvc (talk) 22:30, 28 March 2011 (UTC)

The prod was misplaced at Talk:Oruxmaps. If you want, you may send this to WP:AfD. Bearian (talk) 01:10, 29 March 2011 (UTC)
Eh, not sure I care a ton either way at this point. I certainly wouldn't mind seeing it go to AfD if anyone feels like doing the necessary research to confirm lack of sources, but it's not a huge deal to me if it sticks around for a while either. Thanks for the heads up. Zachlipton (talk) 01:53, 29 March 2011 (UTC)

Recoleta Cemetery - User talk:93.96.210.196

I've read the guidelines several times & still don't understand why my blog about Recoleta Cemetery is denied a listing. As mentioned before, it's true I have a PDF handbook for sale on the blog. But if someone would take a few moments to look at the content of the blog which is currently at 415 posts & a word count of about 83,000, it's obvious that the blog content is much more than any PDF could provide. I have been researching & publishing my findings since 2007 & I am the only English-speaking authority of the place. The blog is not written to exclusively promote the PDF... I only finished the PDF in Jan 2010. All content is offered free of charge.

Please reconsider your decision. Thank you, Robert Wright —Preceding unsigned comment added by 190.49.60.84 (talk) 00:46, 5 April 2011 (UTC)

Vang vieng

You and other users and so called wiki editors keep removing my edits. When I fIrst started updating this page you kept removing or deleting my updates saying that what I was writing was either not true or could not be proven. Well if you look at the page now you will see on there a lot of newer additions, updates and sources added by others which are actually backing up what I have been saying for months now, that the place is being destroyed by tourism. Yet when I want to add more information, true information, I am prevented from doing so. I am way ahead of others on what is really happening in that place yet I am not able to share this information. Hardly what Wikipedia stands for I would have thought. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.217.101.57 (talk) 05:07, 5 April 2011 (UTC)

Citiation format questions

Hello,

I am working with Thomas.A.Pugh on the biofuels policy article that we are creating for our class assignment. I have some questions about making the references section. Since there are 3 of us working on this sandbox, the format is all off and there are some error messages showing on the page. Also, what's making this especially troublesome is that I can't see the code that my partners typed it in reference section when I click "edit". The only text I see in there is what I have typed, so I can't copy the format my partners used or make everything in there one format. Do you have any pointers on this?

Thank you for your time, WJCopley (talk) 17:43, 8 April 2011 (UTC)

Hi

I just checked out the Integrative Medicine article. It looks through the history that there has been a lot of good work that has been removed. The article is now pretty poor. It looks to me as though there is a campaign to minimize the article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 95.144.77.98 (talk) 21:49, 24 May 2011 (UTC)

The Great American Wiknic

Hi there, just wanted to let you know -- I've just reshuffled the SF Meetup page a bit, making a separate page for the Wiknic so that hopefully newbies will be able to figure out what's up more easily. I moved your discussion about the Botanical garden to the talk page there -- hope that's OK. I also added your name on the list of possible participants: Wikipedia:Meetup/San Francisco/Wiknic I hope you're still planning to come! -Pete (talk) 23:25, 24 May 2011 (UTC)

File:Spit-Like-This.jpg

There's a bit of a problem with the copyright status of File:Spit-Like-This.jpg.

On their website, it says, SPiT LiKE THiS own the copyright/license to these images and hereby release them to the public domain for non-profit useage.

That statement doesn't actually make sense; if something is 'public domain' then it's public domain - anyone can do absolutely anything they like with it.

If, however, they wish to retain copyright and prevent commercial use, then we can't use it. Wikipedia is free for anyone to copy - including e.g. websites that have adverts - and that counts as 'commercial use'.

Are you able to arrange for the website to state it is public domain (with no conditions)?  Chzz  ►  13:55, 6 June 2011 (UTC)

USEPA finally set up an account

Hello. This is a follow-up to your comments and suggestions on the username discussion page. As is usual for the government, it took a while to get approval to proceed toward a new frontier. But I finally got the OK to set up the account and begin suggesting edits to content that falls within USEPA's purview. You volunteered to help out or point me in the direction of folks who might be interested. I have a bullet list of proposed edits w/citations for a particular chemical page on Wikipedia, but to avoid the appearance of lording over Wikipedia content we would prefer not to edit pages directly. If you're still interested in helping out, please contact me. USEPA James (talk) 18:11, 15 June 2011 (UTC)

Regarding the Wikipedia page on Vandana Vishwas

Hi Zachlipton,

I was editing the page that I have created on Vandana Vishwas and wanted to add some more details. However, it was tagged for COI. I am her husband and contact person as she can not afford any professionals with her means. You can find all about her at her website www.vandanavishwas.com. I have created a page on her because I genuinely feel she has contributed a lot to the south-Asian music in North America. Please look at the wikipedia article and let me know if it is objectionable in any way.

Many thanks! Vishwasthoke (talk) 01:02, 25 November 2011 (UTC)Vishwas Thoke

how to correct spelling mistakes of the headings?

Hi Zach. I'm Andy Berlin. Former partner of Jeff Goodby and Rich Silverstein and presently still myself. I dunno if you were questioning the appropriateness of their 2 Wikipedia pages. If so, I'm happy to support their relevance. They've done real stuff, and I think you'd think it was good. But then maybe you know them. andy_berlin@me.com — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.59.4.135 (talk) 17:37, 6 April 2012 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:Sortu-logo.jpg)

Thanks for uploading File:Sortu-logo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:22, 18 May 2013 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited 2014 Hong Kong electoral reform, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Occupy Central. Texidor's Twinge

The doctor that this syndrome is named after was my uncle Dr. Theodore A. Texidor. What does it mean that the article needs more citations for verification? I saw where the JAMA published the original article describing this condition. What more is needed? Just curious. Rltexidor (talk) 03:09, 22 September 2015 (UTC)

Hi Rltexidor. I don't know much about the article. My only edit to it was to revert some vandalism (somebody added to the article to claim that the syndrome causes death, that was reverted, then somebody put it back, so I removed it again). I just went ahead and removed the "more citations" template, as it's been there since 2009 and there are now several citations of good quality. If you have more questions about this article, you could try discussing them on the article's talk page: Talk:Precordial_catch_syndrome. Best. Zachlipton (talk) 03:17, 22 September 2015 (UTC)

I could not find an answer to my original question. How much verification (citations) are needed for the article on Texidor's Twinge? The syndrome was first described by my uncle Dr. Theodore A. Texidor. As far as I can tell, the five articles cited appear to be the only ones out there. I was looking up Dr. Carl H. Gumbiner who wrote the latest article in 2003 to see what sources he cited in his article. I would love to help raise the level of this article do that others can use it and rely on its accuracy. Let me know how I can help!

New deal for page patrollers

Hi Abyssinia H,

In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.

Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.

Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:30, 13 November 2016 (UTC)
