How is the sentence "Bob Dylan is a famous musician" "peacockish" or "non-neutral"? If fame can't be measured, then neither can be notability. Regarding "controversially"—"controversial" is something that attracts controversy. What's "biased" about any of that? Toccata quarta (talk) 23:59, 6 January 2013 (UTC)

Re: Traditional Chinese medicine
editTo make the page history more complete, pretty much. As described in principle 10 of my notes about importing, an import has absolutely no effect on the content of the page that readers see, except for some bizarre corner cases that don't apply to the Traditional Chinese medicine page. In other words, a reader would have never seen the 2001 revisions that Traditional Chinese medicine that I imported, unless they went into the page history to look for them. Reliable Sources Question
editHi. I was the one who added Imperial Circus Dead Decadence into the list of melodic death metal bands. I just now saw that it was removed because of an "unreliable source". Would Encyclopedia Metallum/Metal Archives be considered reliable? If not, what sources are considered reliable besides below?
Some of ICDD and their latest album's info found here: vaguedge.info and Imperial Circus Dead Decadence | 狂おしく咲いた凄惨な骸は奏で、愛おしく裂いた少女は聖餐の詞を謳う。 (Both Japanese) Right now, I'm looking for more sources that would be credible.

Your message on my page entitled TIP
editPlease forgive me, but the actual meaning of your cryptic message on an edit from nearly 6 years ago escapes me. The Wikipedia style essays you referenced seemed rather off into left field. If I inadvertently hit some nerve with you, I assure you it was not my intention. Were you wanting a reference for the asserted fact? Generally, we try not to overburden an opening paragraph with a cite for every sentence but if you feel that is needed, I'll be happy to do it. 6 years ago, I was not as good at using Google Books as I am now. I mostly watch over the Fudge related articles to keep profanity from blighting them. Thankfully, Penuche doesn't attract it as much as others. I'd be glad to look up some cites from various sources to legitimize the use of the term you singled out, Brown Sugar Candy, if necessary. It would be better, stylistically speaking, to develop the article further by adding paragraphs on regional varieties and their corresponding names with the citations placed in those paragraphs. The article would benefit from such expansion in my view and if you have an interest in regional cooking, or regional desserts, I could certainly use the help and enthusiasm. It would be pleasant to have a little help filling out such articles. Penuche is such a basic flavor and recipe in so many cultures and regions of the USA. I feel it deserves more attention than it has gotten in the existing article. I admit to being a bit of a foodie, having worked in catering to pay my Grad School bills. In these days of canned frostings, Semi-homemade everythings and the loss of regional and ethnic methods and tastes in baking, it would be sweet indeed, to delve more deeply into the heavenly but simple combination of ingredients that give Penuche its memorable taste, texture and place of honor in our memories of holidays past. Do let me know how I can help wit this and any other article you have your eye upon. LiPollis (talk) 19:48, 20 March 2013 (UTC)
Quotes and verification
editHi Curb Chain, I don't know if we've run into each other before, but I wanted to bring something up. If you feel that a source needs to be verified by a quotation, it's usually best to use a template like {{Request quotation}} or something similar as described here. Removing the information (as here and here) is usually not the best way to go about it (barring BLP or MEDRS issues). If it is not urgent, there's nothing wrong with waiting for a source to be verified after requesting a quote. Let me know if you have any questions, Mark Arsten (talk) 14:58, 25 March 2013 (UTC)

John Moulton
editIn reference to the deleted article John Moulton (medical practitioner) I'm wondering if you might reconsider your opposition to this article. I have recently read WP:NRU and feel that it conclusively proves Moulton's notability for inclusion in Wikipedia. I hope you will agree and assist me in it being reinstated. As the team doctor he was an administrator of a "High Performance Union" for a long period and also at the time of winning the Rugby World Cup so he is clearly deemed notable by current standards. IP user edit removal notification
editHello I made a recent edit and noticed a removal message a few days later. Upon checking the page I edited I noticed my edits remained unchanged. Looking more closely at the removal message I noticed a date 2 months previous to my recent edit and recalled the fact that I had not logged in but was content to edit as an IP user on this occasion. Is it against Wiki-policy to cite the actual edit in question when a removal/NPOV violation is being carried out by an editor? Citing the edit or article in the removal message would clear up some confusion as to whose edit it was for the users of a public IP address. Also, some blurb including directions on responding to one of these messages besides "use the talk page" might save time for first-time recipients.(i.e. I'm not even sure this is what to do...) Cell disruption
editHello. It may interest you that someone called tenofalltrades seems determined to completely delete the "cell disruption" page, to which you previously contributed. Over a 11 minute period in March they deleted ~22,500 words (virtually the entire page), and made no attempt to rebuild the page. Of course, the page was imperfect but I think it was still a useful compendium of information. Now it's pretty much gone.
I've tried to communicate with this person, and then reversed their changes, an effort that has now itself been reversed. I don't have the wiki experience (or the time) to deal with this anymore. So I'm writing to you and several other contributors in case others feel like preserving the page. Thanks a lot Liamloftus (talk) 15:03, 24 September 2014 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Waves Coffee
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Waves Coffee requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. The main focus will be the Tramp as it comes up to the centenary of its release, but other Chaplin related articles may well get changed, especially as the Chaplin Association has promised to allow us to photograph some of the exhibits that they have loaned to the museum. There will be some film experts and several experienced Wikipedians at the event, and there is a talkpage for any queries, special requests for photographs or things to check in the reference sources available at the museum. DRN help needed and volunteer roll call
editYou are receiving this message because you have listed yourself on the list of volunteers at Wikipedia:Dispute resolution noticeboard/Volunteering#List of the DRN volunteers.
First, assistance is needed at DRN. We have recently closed a number of cases without any services being provided for lack of a volunteer willing to take the case. There are at least three cases awaiting a volunteer at this moment. Please consider taking one.
Second, this is a volunteer roll call. If you remain interested in helping at DRN and are willing to actively do so by taking at least one case (and seeing it through) or helping with administrative matters at least once per calendar month, please add your name to this roll call list. Individuals currently on the principal volunteer list who do not add their name on the roll call list will be removed from the principal volunteer list after June 30, 2016 unless the DRN Coordinator chooses to retain their name for the best interest of DRN or the encyclopedia. Individuals whose names are removed after June 30, 2016, should feel free to re-add their names to the principal volunteer list, but are respectfully requested not to do so unless they are willing to take part at DRN at least one time per month as noted above. No one is going to be monitoring to see if you live up to that commitment, but we respectfully ask that you either live up to it or remove your name from the principal volunteer list.
