Speedy deletion nomination of XLCubed
editA tag has been placed on XLCubed requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for organizations and companies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. andy (talk) 11:03, 14 April 2010 (UTC)
April 2010
editPlease do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself. Please use the {{hangon}} template on the page instead if you disagree with the deletion, and make your case on the page's talk page. Thank you. Please note also that using more than one account to try to get round Wikipedia's policies is not acceptable, and can lead to all accounts involved being blocked from editing. This is not correct. I suspect its one of the people I told about the articles creation but it certainly is not me!OLAPUser (talk) 15:41, 14 April 2010 (UTC)
- OK, I accept that. Sorry if I misjudged the matter. JamesBWatson (talk) 07:59, 15 April 2010 (UTC)
Your comment on the talk page of XLCubed
editI have read your comment at Talk:XLCubed, and have replied there. JamesBWatson (talk) 12:13, 14 April 2010 (UTC)
Ok, Thank-you for the clarification on criteria. If the article is amended to show the company is significant in its technology sector I assume that this would then warrant the keeping of the article? OLAPUser (talk) 15:10, 14 April 2010 (UTC)
- Yes indeed. In fact, as you may by now have discovered, the speedy deletion tag has now been removed anyway, as an administrator has looked at the article and thinks that it does have enough assertion of importance to avoid speedy deletion, and for what it is worth I agree. However, you may like to look at Wikipedia's notability guidelines to see what is required to justify keeping an article, since although the speedy deletion has been declined it is still possible for someone to propose deletion for other reasons. Both the general notability guideline and the guideline for organizations and companies are relevant. JamesBWatson (talk) 07:57, 15 April 2010 (UTC)
The article XLCubed has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Spam for non notable software.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. TNXMan 16:08, 19 April 2010 (UTC)
