MSK, an acronym for "Mad Society Kings.^[1]" or "Main Street Killas," is a well-established graffiti crew originating from Los Angeles, California. Created in the early 1990s^[2], MSK has gained global recognition for its influential style and contributions to the global graffiti scene. The crew is known for their elaborate murals and widespread number of active members, including the likes of REVOK, SABER, RIME, and AUGOR^[3]

The origins of MSK can be traced back to the early 1990s^[4] when two established Los Angeles graffiti crews, WCA (West Coast Artists) and AWR (Art Work Rebels), merged to form a powerful collective. WCA was founded in 1985 by artists Rival, Miner, and PJay, along with Sed and Rak. Before this, it was widely known as the 'ISM' crew^[5], short for International Style Masters. AWR, founded in 1991, focused on creating innovative graffiti that pushed artistic boundaries. The amalgamation of these two groups brought together diverse strengths and perspectives, resulting in a new, dynamic crew known as the Mad Society Kings, or MSK.
