Neodarwinian

[edit]

I'm currently fascinated by the responses to so-called Neodarwinism. So I noticed that the introduction to this article is phrased as though Neodarwinism is the only scientific paradigm that accounts for evolution. The Neodarwinian account of evolution is presented as an uncontested fact. That is bias.

While I am not a creationists and do not believe in design (intelligent or otherwise) I am persuaded by Lynn Margulis that random mutations in genes do not account for speciation, and that therefore the Neodarwinian account of evolution is at best partial and over-stated.

Neodarwinist fundamentalism is a very interesting phenomenon, and shares many formal features with other kinds of fundamentalism. mahaabaala (talk) 09:39, 30 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
