I noticed the four movies (1980, 2005, 2008, and 2009) all have a double 'o'; in Michigan growing up we always pronounced it with the 'oo' sounding like the o's in foot... thus boogyman. I guess there's still a lot of people hung up on Bogey and Bacall. It's strange to always hear it pronounced Bogey instead of boogy. I wouldn't mind seeing a vote taken on the pronunciation; because the movie names would seem to indicate the outcome would be boogieman/boogeyman instead of the vocal bogey supporters. It just rankles me to see the minority opinion win out... isn't that the way Europe was before we came over here and took the land from the Native Americans? We might as well have stayed on the other side of the pond. I guess you can tell I am pro-democracy/majority rule. Thank you. I guess I would be happy if you simply changed the spelling in the heading to a double 'o'-- at least until it's proven that it should be a single 'o'.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.124.11.250 (talk) 00:58, 17 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
