Infobox / New Map

[edit]

I'd like to add an infobox; that could significantly clean up this article. But, the existing alternatives map doesn't fit in a standard rail line infobox. Should I create a second map of the current planned alternative and use that, or should I just leave it out of the infobox entirely? Pi.1415926535 (talk) 05:14, 31 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Nevermind. "box_width = auto" solves my problem. Pi.1415926535 (talk) 05:52, 31 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Line Names

[edit]

We know as of August 2011 that the lines will be known by their color names in the near future, before Central opens. However, I don't think it's constructive to randomly refer to Hiawatha as "Blue Line" and Central as "Green Line" while Metro Transit, the Metro Council, and all other local sources are still advertising them as "Hiawatha Line" and "Central Corridor". I added parenthetical references to their current names in the first paragraph but think this should be addressed more accurately. Furthermore, why call Hiawatha "Blue Line" and Central "Green Line" while still calling Southwest "Southwest"? Southwest will be a Green Line extension, and at this point it's officially on the map for the color-scheme names as the green line anyway, so if Hiawatha and Central are referred by color Southwest should be too. I understand that Bottineau has not reached the LPA stage and as such we don't know whether it will be light rail (and hence a Blue Line extension) or BRT (and hence some other color), so it's appropriate to continue referring to it by its AA name. But can't we come up with a less confusing approach than randomly switching all references of Hiawatha and Central to color names while leaving everything else with project names?
