POV?
[edit]This article sounds like it was written by someone who doesn't think Democrats exist in NW Florida, and that Eglin Air Force Base is the only military installation in the district. I've tried to correct some of that, and expand the article a little.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Disavian (talk • contribs) 12:52, 7 March 2006 (UTC-5)
"Redneck Riviera?" Really?
[edit]Isn't this nickname at least petty? First, I can tell you personally that people who live in the area do not call it that. Second, c'mon, class it up. Third, and most importantly, Florida is a transient state. Tremendous numbers of people who live here were not born in the state. It would be far more accurate to call Alabamians "rednecks" and to call Floridians "New Yorkers and Cubans." Jessemckay (talk) 02:29, 17 October 2013 (UTC)
Lack of Info
[edit]Never really does this before, but as I am a native of the district, I felt like I had to point some things out. First, it is pretty obvious, if you know the area, that the article was written by someone living in Okaloosa County. There is a strong Okaloosa bias in the article. Second, it was not written by a native. "The Emerald Coast" is not an "affectionate local name for the Gulf Coast beaches of Florida's Panhandle, from Pensacola east to Destin." It is a marketing term, like many other before it, and a true native would know that. I would like the see really registration numbers broken down by party and county. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.89.123.215 (talk) 06:18, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
Expansion
[edit]Mentions military presence and tourism but doesn't explain how that impacts the politics, which is the topic of the article, in this part of Florida. RJFJR (talk) 20:16, 5 February 2008 (UTC)

Matt Gaetz Allegations
[edit]The Gaetz's allegation should not be covered in this article, the article is about who rep the district, Gaetz's allegations are being covered in his article GameEnd (talk) 18:42, 31 March 2021 (UTC)
No The allegations are relevant. 2605:B100:D3C:1431:2016:95EB:E26B:BC49 (talk) 19:04, 31 March 2021 (UTC)
- I revdel'd the challenged content and protected the page. Please establish consensus to add back. DISCLAIMER: I hate Gaetz's guts. --Deepfriedokra (talk) 19:22, 31 March 2021 (UTC)
- I've seen the related section on Matt Gaetz. The content there is nothing like the revdel'd content here. It's neutral an not undue. To be clear, not opposed to adding neutral, non salacious, non inflammatory content. --Deepfriedokra (talk) 19:39, 31 March 2021 (UTC)
