History

[edit]

The History of MBG nee Circus Circus Enterprises is incomplete without addressing its origination with Sarno's Circus Circus property, and certainly does not begin with the acquisition of the Gold Strike as the article has recently appeared to suggest. Though history belongs to those who write Wikipedia entries, when editing the Mandalay Bay Group article, please consider the nominal and organizational historical significance of Circus Circus.

Future writers might also incorporate historical accounts of the Bennett, Pennington, and Ensign management eras which closely align with the strategic eras of MBG's development and move to upscale markets that enabled the group's ultimate acquisition. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.111.191.117 (talk) 23:43, 18 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

MotorCity Casino Detroit

[edit]

The MotorCity casino in Detroit was not part of the MGM MIRAGE-Mandalay Resorts merger as Michigan gaming laws prohibits any company and/or persons from owning more then one casino in the State, Initially MGM Mirage was considering and at one point was taking offers to sell the MGM Grand Detroit but ultimately it was MotorCity which was sold not MGM Grand.
