Naming
[edit]I presume the English town of Oatlands is the one used as a basis for the name. I found a couple of online references for that:
- http://www.ruralhealth.utas.edu.au/rhts/oatlands/
However, I also found a reference that claims the town was named by Governor Macquarie "as it reminded him of the oat growing areas in his native Scotland":
I don't know who to believe, and these references don't give the source of their information. Perhaps both possibilities need to be stated in the article unless someone knows a good reference. Barrylb (talk) 10:52, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
Photo added
[edit]I added a photo and removed the request template; I've also added a street shot in Commons, but I think this one is more interesting. Floatjon (talk) 22:08, 25 April 2015 (UTC)
