"Light cavalry"?

[edit]

The article describes the QRH as a light cavalry regiment, but that seems to be contradicted by their equipment, and by the listing in Cavalry regiments of the British Army that gives them as an "armoured regiment", rather than "formation reconnaissance". Perhaps some more compound statement is indicated, specifying both their historical antecedents and the present role. 84.203.32.88 (talk) 01:15, 2 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Light cavalry is a historic term for hussars and lancers. Think of the charge of the light brigade. Jim Sweeney (talk) 06:38, 2 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Dates need specifing.

[edit]

Someone needs to make the dates more consistent. It says they were founded in 1685 (which is 332 years ago). medals awarded to them referred to as being in the last '320 years', which seems 12 years out of date as I’m sure it is supposed to be there whole history. Then in #privileges and traditions it says: In over 300 years of distinguished service which is OK, but could be more specific.

On return from Afghanistan in 2012 the regiment was called on at very short notice - what is very short notice?

All agreed and removed. This regiment actually only dates from 1993. Best wishes. Dormskirk (talk) 13:08, 2 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, I must say I had problems finding any historical information to correct it, that explains why I suppose.
