Statement doesnt make sense

"Much of the southern part of the sea, up to Elephant Island, is permanent ice, the Filchner-Ronne Ice Shelf. "

This statement doesn't make sense. Elephant Island is at the northern edge of the Weddell sea and is not near the part which is permanent ice, in the southern part of the sea. It isn't even particularly close to the remaining patches of permanent ice on the western edge of the sea.122.106.246.138 (talk) 04:11, 6 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
