Clients / todo
[edit]- OK, I added many clients to the template.
- Now the template need to be added to the articles of the clients!
*Many clients aren't on the list or the comparison! they can be found by searching the cats!
- the list and the comparison need a big cleanup!
- there is one client in the template commented out (at the bottom). I don't know where to sort in!

Should Pine be moved from Freeware to Discontinued?
[edit]The last version of Pine was 4.64, released on Sep 28, 2005 ([1]). All Pine development has been halted since then ([2]), and it has a very clear upgrade path to Alpine ([3])
Although Pine is still available for download, it has been four and a half years since it was updated. In addition there are other "still available" programs in the Discontinued section: Beonex`and Columbia MM are examples.
BTW, this is my first edit. I've read a lot of guides but if I've still managed to do something glaringly wrong, please let me know. I'm wondering: have I have cited my references properly? Having on and off been a prolific user of USENET for 29 years, I'm pretty thick skinned about criticism. I always try to assume it is being offered to help. Thanks.

Forte Agent not a donationware, Eudora discontinued
[edit]Forte Agent is strictly shareware (trialware) and the licence cost is fixed at $29. There's no provision to use the programme in return for a donation.
Classic Eudora is definitely discontinued, the OSE version that is basically souped-up Thunderbird hasn't seen an update for a long time and the comment on its website https://wiki.mozilla.org/Eudora_OSE reads "it is Mozilla's understanding that Qualcomm is no longer developing Eudora OSE. Furthermore, the last released version is based on an old version of Thunderbird which is no longer supported …".
