Who removes the Tag....
A few days ago the article I created got deleted due to it not having anything substantial. I have corrected it since then and it seems to have passed since I haven't received another deletion message. Yeah.
My question is, on my talk page, will it always show the Speedy deletion tag or do you need to take it off. I was going to edit it off but it said
"Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Λua∫Wise (talk) 14:13, 10 January 2008 (UTC)"
Thanks RingPOPmom (talk) 12:39, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
- Hello RingPOPmom, and Welcome to Wikipedia!
- I understood from your question that you are asking about the deletion tag on your talk page. Well, first of all, the "Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines." message applies only to the speedy deletion tag on the article's page and not on your talk page. I have seen the article and improved it a bit Here. Just a piece of advice, when you want to make a subtitle, use == before and after that title instead of using bold text.
- Please note that Wikipedia policy does not prohibit users from removing comments from their own talk pages, although archiving is preferred. The removal of a warning is taken as evidence that the warning has been read by the user. Deleted warnings can still be found in the page history. see Wikipedia:User_page and Wikipedia:USER
- I hope this answers your question.Good luck !

Thanks for the site improvement. I'm still learning to get around here and some things are easier to understand than others.... Since I see you are awake, then maybe you can help me with another problem I am having understanding. When I created the article I used Gina DeVivo, however, most people will just type in gina devivo. I know I have to do something like redirect due to spelling capitalization but I can't figure out what or where to put the info on the article. Thanks so much! RingPOPmom (talk) 12:46, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
- You are welcome,
- As for the redirect thing, it is done. You can try it if you want, type "gina devivo" or "Gina Devivo" and it will direct you to your article. Voilà!
- If you want, i will tell you how to do it.I also added an info box and an image to the article, it certainly looks better now. :)
- Λua∫Wise (talk) 12:55, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
UPDATE Thanks for the redirected....maybe now you can help me save Gina's page from being deleted (again) I appreciate what you wrote on the deletion page. I thought I had what I needed but other writers are telling me that it's not notable. I think her roles are but that won't stop it from being deleted. I saw that other child actors (not famous) had their article classified as a stub. Would that save Gina's site from being deleted. I found at least 50+ child actors who had no more than what Gina had on her page but maybe the stub has kept them on Wikipedia. RingPOPmom (talk) 13:35, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

- I am sorry that the article was nominated for deletion (again) after all your hard work improving it. So far, 3 editors are calling for Delete and 2 for Strong keep.Honestly, I was surprised to see the article nominated for deletion (especially, and as you mentioned; there are other young actors with pages on WP). For the moment, i am afraid that there is nothing we can do to save it (tagging it as a stub is not, and will not be helpful).
- I will keep an eye on the situation, and hopefully more editors will agree with us.

Many thanks for taking the time to comment, and for your support. I've self-nominated another article for GA review and I would like to work towards a featured article when I feel brave enough (and have sufficient time!) Thanks again - Kim Dent-Brown (Talk) 12:57, 18 January 2008 (UTC)

Citations
"Proper format"??! There is no such a thing as a proper format!! In fact, using Wikipedia:Citation_templates is optional per Wikipedia:Citation_templates, and is neither encouraged nor discouraged by any other Wikipedia citation guidelines 'Period', and the article certainly satisfies these criteria where no more than simple reliable inline citation are required provided they follow Wikipedia:FOOTNOTESstyle. Do not you agree? Could you please cite the a WP guideline requiring the ref list to be in a certain format. I will, however, see what I can do if I have time and convert the format of the citations. Λua∫Wise (talk) 20:11, 19 January 2008 (UTC)
- While the templates themselves are not required, the information they would display is. For instance, the minimum a print reference requires is the name of the author, the title of the book or article, the date of publication, and page numbers. It's all there at Wikipedia:Citing sources. Online citations should at least format their link to show something other than the URL and provide a date of access (since things change on the Internet, and what you cited might not be there or the same in a year).--SeizureDog (talk) 09:45, 20 January 2008 (UTC)
- Good point. As I said before, I will try to convert them, although I believe they are cumbersome and would certainly make editing the article more difficult.Λua∫Wise (talk) 09:50, 20 January 2008 (UTC)

Please review sandbox for article on Laurence Caruana
Hi Auawise,
- And thanks for the welcome to wiki (with a plate of cookies!)
- As you know, I recently posted a proposed article on Laurence Caruana in my sandbox. The proposed article can be found by going to [jemecache/sandbox]. Could you please cast an eye over it before I try to post it?
- I also have a question. If (after I post it) someone tags the article with a template that questions notability, what is the usual procedure for responding? How long does the template remain, and who removes it? Can I remove it? Is it normal for someone to put a template, without at least discussing the issue first? So far, I haven't found a wiki policy that explains all this. - Thanks!
Jemecache (talk) 17:10, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
- Hello Jemecache,
- I saw the article on your sandbox, and I have to say: I am impressed! I saw the list of your contributions and it appears that this is the first article you start, yet this article certainly gives the impression that you have been doing this for quite some time. To see what i mean, just take a look at a couple of articles on Special:Newpages, and you will see what most new articles look like and how good your article looks (in comparison) .I would encourage you to post it , but please read the answers to your questions first.
- First, If someone tags the article questioning their notability {e.g. {{notability}} }, the recommended action is to: 1.Establish notability by referring to several important sources (which you have already done) 2.discuss the issue on the article's talk page, and if possible with the person who tagged it to explain why they did so, and respond.
- You have also to remember these things if you become engaged in such discussion: (1).Notability guidelines do not directly limit article content, and (2). Notability requires objective evidence. For more information on this subject, please see Wikipedia:Notability
- The template will remain until notability is established. It is then removed by the person who put there in the first place. If you think that the discussion between you and the person tagging the article would not lead to any useful conclusion, you can ask for a third opinion. Also, you can (but it is recommended against) to remove the template yourself. Bear in mind , however, that breaking the Wikipedia:Three-revert_rule can result in blocking the account.
- And Finally, Yes, someone might, and most likely, will tag it without discussing it first, but i would not worry that much if i were you, a notability tag is not used that often, instead if the article is not important, it will be tagged for deletion. So to avoid this kind of situation, you will have to follow the same procedure as above, plus one or two extra steps depending on the situation (speedy deletion: post {{hangon}}, and AfD , discuss it on the article's entry page)see Wikipedia:Guide_to_deletion and Wikipedia:Help,_my_article_got_nominated_for_deletion!
- I know this is a long response, but i hope i have answered your question! Do not worry, your article will not be tagged (it is well referenced, among other things), but if it does, you know what to do! :)
- Good luck ,if you have any question, or need help (especially with that article) , you know where to find me. Λua∫Wise (talk) 19:56, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
- Hi again.
- And thanks a million for the thumbs up.
- I'm also very thankful that you took the time to answer my questions thoroughly and clearly. As a new user, I keep on learning new policies, and probably have more to learn still. That's why your role is so vital. I needed to be clear, at least on those points, before the article is posted. I imagine your contribution takes a lot of time and effort, so I would like to say here how appreciative I am - to have a wise counselor (young though she may be) or guardian angel. Your supportive acts are deeply appreciated.
- Hello Jemecache,
- You do not have to thank me, i just told you the truth. Wikipedia needs the kind of enthusiasm and respect for Wikipedia guidelines that you have. To be honest with you, you are one of the few who actually post the article first on the sandbox, and ask for feedback. Thus, i expect you to become a successful wikipedian.
- Please do not hesitate to post any question you have on my talk page, I will be more than happy to help you.
- P.S. I am actually a male (sorry for disappointing you!).
- Best of luck my fellow wikipedian !! ;)

- Hi again Auawise...
- Thanks for taking the time to look in on my article once again. As I said, you must be my guardian angel (and sorry about the gender mix-up, but angels don't really have a gender anyway!). I'll follow your advice and see about posting a picture of the artist (and not his work, for risk of copyright infringement. I'm learning...). Your interest and sage advice are appreciated.
- Sorry if this is seen as interference, but I made a few cleanups to the article to comply with WP:MOS. It looks very good to me, though some WP:NPOV violations are in the article. (try to talk about him neutrally) Nousernamesleftcopper, not wood 03:05, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
- Wow, I just realized that this was your first article. Stupendous job! My first article got deleted within five seconds. :p Nousernamesleftcopper, not wood 03:05, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
- A third opinion is always appreciated, Nousernamesleft. Yes , she -Jemecache- (I think it is a 'She' but please forgive me if it was a 'He') did indeed a great job on that article. Many of us get their first, second , perhaps third article deleted. Λua∫Wise (talk) 09:27, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
- Hello Nousernamesleft and auawise. Thanks to both of you for the kind words. Actually, my first article was deleted. Like many new users, I learned the hard way that wikipedia has many many regulations! Thanks, nousernamesleft, for taking the time to clean up the article. It's definitely an improvement. I've gone back and changed three things. First, you wrote 'was' when it should be 'is', since he's a living person. Second, you wrote 'Lawrence' when it should be 'Laurence' (spelling mistake). And third, someone (maybe it was your predecessor?) removed a reference to the fact that Caruana's work has appeared on trading cards. This was referenced to a footnote at the bottom with a link. If you think this is a form of advertising, we could remove the link (and just write the name of the cards), but I think the fact should remain. I hope all of this is ok with you. And - by the way - yes, I'm a she...
Jemecache (talk) 09:40, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
- (resetting indent) Yes, sorry for the mistakes. I don't know if I removed the trading card remark, but if I did, it was an accident. I'm fairly certain that that tidbit is quite all right. Cheers, Nousernamesleftcopper, not wood 23:16, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
Thanks
Who knows how long the article will stay on though cuz that one editor "Whpq" constantly monitors the article. He keeps trying to get it off. I'm sure in two weeks, he'll try and delete for "lack of notability proof" again. However, "Whpq" "keeps" the guy whose dating Britney Spears though as a notable person. No one even knew this guy before her... and I thought relationships weren't counted as a source. RingPOPmom (talk) 11:30, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
- Agree, I just checked the article Adnan Ghalib and this seems ironic given how much he wanted the Gina Devivo article deleted. I think we must improve the article in the meantime. First thing to do is to add a picture, and I hope you might be able to help with that because there are no free pictures of her, I tried to upload one of them on the internet, but it got deleted because of the license. I hope you have some free ones. Then, let's expand the article so that just in case it was nominated to deletion again, we will have more editors agreeing with us. Λua∫Wise (talk) 11:37, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
- I can add a picture, but how will adding a picture help? RingPOPmom (talk) 11:46, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
- It will increase the 'value' of the article, decreasing the tendency to delete it within the community (this is what I have concluded when going through the deletion process of several articles). Of course a picture will not add notability, but you can think of it as a good idea to do so. Cleaning it up and expanding it should improve the article considerably. I was thethinking that if we can find enough sources, illustrations, and material put in a proper form, we can nominate it to be a Good article which will make it very hard to delete. Λua∫Wise (talk) 11:58, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
- This was in the New York Times newspaper. The article isn't reviewing "Gina's performance" in the Girl Play film she was in, but at the bottom of the article it has Gina's name listed as one of the cast members. Would that help? Here's the link http://movies.nytimes.com/2005/04/01/movies/01girl.html

- Is there any way NOT to have the title of the article showing on the page?? Maybe just have the New York Times link and then when clicked it will go to that article page. The title makes it sound as if Gina is lesbian which she's not, she just played the younger version of the main character. Some people might get offended of the title just blurting out on the page and we certainly don't need that. If you have to keep it then can you make the font smaller. Thanks P.S. Thanks for your help :-) RingPOPmom (talk) 17:00, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
- I was a bit surprised with the name of the article when I visited the link. I do not think that there is anything wrong with it, but since you have started the article , I am ready to help out with that. I can not simply remove the name of the article of the New York times because that would render the reference useless. I can size down the text, or remove the CITE template altogether. I preferred to change the title to "Movie review/ Girl play" which is not wrong since it displays its path. I might also resort to removing the template altogether, it depends. If you prefer one way or the other, I will change that accordingly. P.S. Always happy to help ;-) Λua∫Wise (talk) 18:12, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

Salam,
I review the unofficially. I doubt about "Factual accuracy" of the article and I'm sure it is not "Broad in coverage". However I don't want to challenge your decision but I think reviewer should be more careful about GA criteria. Now I'm co-working with Jagged 85 to improve the article.
Of course, I think the problem is the procedure of reviewing articles. I think there should be technical task forces.--Seyyed(t-c) 05:30, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
- I put a comment on the talk page to discuss more.--Seyyed(t-c) 05:43, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
- The problem is that the whole review thing is a bit objective and depends on where you stand. I saw the article to be fairly broad in its coverage. We can not just add words to articles because there is some little aspect that we want to see there. length is inversely proportional to readability beyond a certain limit, and IA is already above that limit. Also, It was NPOV, views from all sides were present, if there is a statement here or there that someone might not like, it does not mean POV , it just means a balanced view of the article; because that someone will find a statement that he likes. Anyway, please remember that this is GA article, not A-class or FA; that it must have flaws , otherwise what is the point of having all the above mentioned classes?

Reverting "vandalism"
Hello Auawise! Since i am new here, I must ask you this: You just reverted my ongoing editing of article "Gospel of Judas" before I got it finished. Is it just my being working clumsily in separate steps, or is there some rule I haven't understood well enough? I did make a note in the talk page before starting, though. No offense meant to your vigilance, just trying to learn... :) --QHLT (talk) 12:34, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
OK - I think I found the point myself, now that I have become aware of th "in use" tag. Best regards to you, Auawise! --QHLT (talk) 12:56, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
- Very well! You see , you can use a number of tags while working. When I came, I found three paragraphs removed from the article without proper explanation or substitution-and if you are familiar with the kind of vandalism that is going on on Wikipedia- you will appreciate how identifying your edit as vandalism was justified. Removing large chunks of text is not allowed without a good reason on WP. Anyway, I saw you were just relocating them, good! It might be easier however to cut and paste them in one step, rather than cutting--> saving--> pasting-->saving. Hopefully, this way you will never face this situation again. Best of luck! If you have any more questions, you can post them on my talk page and I will be happy to assist you. :)

Hello, The name "Gusteris" is Latin. It's coming from the family of the Latin word "Gustus -us m" and "Gustatus -us m" (gust-o, gustare, gustav-i, gustat-um = taste/take a little of/enjoy). Gustatus means taste; appetite, flavor and Gustus means tasting; taste, flavor,a whet or relish. In Spanish Gust means -to like. Even in English Gust means taste fancy, etc. In Latin, in passive voice in 1.sg in indicative it is gustor and in subjunctive it becomes guster. In 2.sg in indicative it is gustáris and in subjunctive it becomes gustéris. So it is a Latin word indeed. The definition from the word Gusteris is someone ho does only what he wants/likes. In many regions of Greece the word lizard, except from "ΣΑΥΡΑ" (Savra), is called "ΓΚΟΥΣΤΕΡΑ" (Gustera) and the small ones "ΓΚΟΥΣΤΕΡΙΤΣΑ" (Gusteritsa). The second one obviously is coming from the Latin word "Guster" because of the lizard Gusteris. The lizard took this name from its strange and "spoiled" if you like behavior to breed and procreate only if the environment and everything else suits it. That's why it is so rare and unknown to the world. That's why (and that's a pity) it's endangered to be extinct. The population allready is exremely limited. I have done a research about this lizard in the library of Kozani. Even lot of people in Kozani are not aware of its existence. Its not easy at all to find and see them. In old times there were a lot of legends created because of this lizard. It was considered as the devil or a curse. There are a lot of stories from the early years of the past century about huntings by locals with dogs trying to eliminate those big lizards because they were damaging their harvests. - Thanks for the info mate, as an enthusiastic biology amateur, I must say that I have never heard of these lizards, which is whyI left a note on the talk page wondering about thier binomial nomenclature. Really fascinating if you ask me! Well, I noticed that you made several duplicate entries for all the names of the lizard, no need to do so really; just use a redirect. I will go ahead and do that for the moment...Anyway, if you have more interesting info about some little-known species , please start an article about them. Also remember to add internal links to the article, and most important of all, Add Sources. I was about to nominate it for DYK, but the lack of sources stopped me. Also gust (Spanish) does not mean anything, perhaps you were refering to gustar, as in "me gusta la biología". Thanks again for the info, keep up the good work! Λua∫Wise (talk) 10:50, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
