Simon Shelton

Joseph,

I updated my late brothers wiki page this afternoon and you then removed my changes.

As I am his brother I know his date of birth and date of his passing, so please do not revert it back to the incorrect info.

Regards

New Page Reviewer Newsletter

Hello Joseph2302/Archives/2018, thank you for your efforts in reviewing new pages!
The NPP backlog at the end of the drive with the number of unreviewed articles by creation date. Red is older than 90 days, orange is between 90 and 30 days old, and green is younger than 30 days.

Backlog update:

  • The new page backlog is currently at 3819 unreviewed articles, with a further 6660 unreviewed redirects.
  • We are very close to eliminating the backlog completely; please help by reviewing a few extra articles each day!

New Year Backlog Drive results:

  • We made massive progress during the recent four weeks of the NPP Backlog Drive, during which the backlog reduced by nearly six thousand articles and the length of the backlog by almost 3 months!

General project update:

  • ACTRIAL will end it's initial phase on the 14th of March. Our goal is to reduce the backlog significantly below the 90 day index point by the 14th of March. Please consider helping with this goal by reviewing a few additional pages a day.
  • Reviewing redirects is an important and necessary part of New Page Patrol. Please read the guideline on appropriate redirects for advice on reviewing redirects. Inappropriate redirects can be re-targeted or nominated for deletion at RfD.

hmm

Have you edited Wikipedia? Victuallers (talk) 16:37, 21 February 2018 (UTC)

tpw, to put this comment into context, I believe Victuallers is referring to two things: 1) WP:NOTNEWS #2, Wikipedia is also not written in news style, and 2) Mica McNeill has already finished competing in her event. Alex Shih (talk) 17:03, 21 February 2018 (UTC)
She hadn't finished her event when the change was made, there were still 2 runs to go. Competed in past tense makes no sense. Joseph2302 (talk) 17:57, 21 February 2018 (UTC)
I get it. Present tense made it more urgent and newsy, but your claim that the past tense "makes no sense" is a bit of an exaggeration. You are a Wikipedia editor and you have edited Wikipedia and that makes sense to me. The past sense of competed makes absolute sense, even if she is/was still competing. Still I can over this as she's now finished 8th I believe. Well done for maintaining her biog. Cheers Victuallers (talk) 21:21, 21 February 2018 (UTC)
Well at least I bother to write Wikipedia articles rather than just complaining about other people. Joseph2302 (talk) 20:46, 22 February 2018 (UTC)
