Ruego perdon, por favor

[edit]

-- Globalphilosophy (talk) 16:59, 6 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Stop pestering my talk. You were blocked on eswiki. Your case was debated on eswiki's administrator noticeboard. You blew it with sockpuppetry and block evading at the same time yor block reducing was being considered..

Leave me alone for I can't (and in any case wouldn't want) to overturn your block against the consensus. Stop saying that I "have powers" for I don't. Your case was openly decided on the noticeboard. Move on. -- m:drini 17:03, 6 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

-- Globalphilosophy (talk) 17:52, 6 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

no. -- m:drini 18:13, 6 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
-- Globalphilosophy (talk) 18:18, 6 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test worked, and the page that you created has been or soon will be deleted. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Mhiji 21:19, 12 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Template:Signedun

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Template:Signedun requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{transclusionless}}</noinclude>).

Mexcaltitán Ballet

[edit]

I asked someone to check something for me as it appeared that the article had disappeared. It was listed as one of the 2011 artists in the es.wiki version of the Festival Cervantino. The link to this Ballet was blue after we uploaded it, then later in the day, it turned red. That list has since been removed. Then when I did a search for the article (under several spellings) it did not appear. So I asked people to check for it in the deletion logs of es.wiki as I am not familiar with the procedure there. Another reason for this is that there is a sudden great deal of interest in these articles as of yesterday morning which just happens to coincide with the emails sent out by certain members of Wikimedia México demanding that Club Wikipedia account themselves for the activities relating to this Festival. At the very least, all this looks suspicious. As I understand it, there are some problems with the redacción of the articles but the overwhelming response has been to slap etiquetas on the work and trash it in discussion pages. Isnt there a version of "dont bite the newbies" in es.wiki? These are novatos and no one from WM-MX seemed terribly concerned about articles created before by these guys, not even the ones created on the 20 August edit-a-thon for the Children's Museum of Indianapolis. So what is different now? And why so eager to paint this work has horrible rather than helping out new editors? I have looked here on your talk pages and you have had mistakes in en.wiki in the past. I would hope you would be more sympathetic to mistakes being made by those who are learning.Thelmadatter (talk) 17:51, 25 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I appreciate that. These students need mentors and I cannot help them with redacción in es.wiki. Im working on my end to get them mentors, but any help you can provide is appreciated.Thelmadatter (talk) 18:01, 25 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Little Fatty and the Spanish Wikipedia

[edit]

Hi! I heard that you have an interest in BLP topics and are knowledgable about the policies of the Spanish Wikipedia.

Anyway, Qian Zhijun (the person) and Little Fatty (the meme) recently survived a DRV on the English Wikipedia because now Qian has become an actor and an entertainer, and there are multiple in-depth sources describing them in detail in Chinese and English.

As I did searching for more info, I found that there are articles in Spanish that cover the subject:

If I was to start a stub about the meme or the person on the Spanish Wikipedia, what would I need to do? Should I discuss it with someone first? Thanks, WhisperToMe (talk) 09:08, 24 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

MSU Interview

[edit]

Dear Magister Mathematicae,

My name is Jonathan Obar user:Jaobar, I'm a professor in the College of Communication Arts and Sciences at Michigan State University and a Teaching Fellow with the Wikimedia Foundation's Education Program. This semester I've been running a little experiment at MSU, a class where we teach students about becoming Wikipedia administrators. Not a lot is known about your community, and our students (who are fascinated by wiki-culture by the way!) want to learn how you do what you do, and why you do it. A while back I proposed this idea (the class) to the communityHERE, where it was met mainly with positive feedback. Anyhow, I'd like my students to speak with a few administrators to get a sense of admin experiences, training, motivations, likes, dislikes, etc. We were wondering if you'd be interested in speaking with one of our students.

So a few things about the interviews:

  • Interviews will last between 15 and 30 minutes.
  • Interviews can be conducted over skype (preferred), IRC or email. (You choose the form of communication based upon your comfort level, time, etc.)
  • All interviews will be completely anonymous, meaning that you (real name and/or pseudonym) will never be identified in any of our materials, unless you give the interviewer permission to do so.
  • All interviews will be completely voluntary. You are under no obligation to say yes to an interview, and can say no and stop or leave the interview at any time.
  • The entire interview process is being overseen by MSU's institutional review board (ethics review). This means that all questions have been approved by the university and all students have been trained how to conduct interviews ethically and properly.

Bottom line is that we really need your help, and would really appreciate the opportunity to speak with you. If interested, please send me an email at obar@msu.edu (to maintain anonymity) and I will add your name to my offline contact list. If you feel comfortable doing so, you can post your nameHERE instead.

If you have questions or concerns at any time, feel free to email me at obar@msu.edu. I will be more than happy to speak with you.

Thanks in advance for your help. We have a lot to learn from you.

Sincerely,

Jonathan Obar --Jaobar (talk) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Chlopeck (talkcontribs) 04:00, 20 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Invitation to participate in a research

[edit]

Hello,

The Wikimedia Foundation is conducting a survey of Wikipedians to better understand what draws administrators to contribute to Wikipedia, and what affects administrator retention. We will use this research to improve experiences for Wikipedians, and address common problems and needs. We have identified you as a good candidate for this research, and would greatly appreciate your participation in this anonymous survey.

You do not have to be an Administrator to participate.

The survey should take around 10-15 minutes to complete. You may read more about the study on its Meta page and view its privacy statement .

Please find our contact on the project Meta page if you have any questions or concerns.

Kind Regards,

WMF Research Team
