Ideological vandalism?

[edit]

I cited a source for the factually correct information on the copblock page edit. Was it removed simply for the sake of ideological bias/censorship?Master of Logic and Reason (talk) 05:05, 24 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Against the Current

[edit]

Hi Mayur, I'm not sure that I see how my edit wasn't constructive. The page had a maintenance notification saying that a source was needed identifying each of the people listed as members of the band. I did that by pointing to their Twitter profiles. Each member lists their affiliation with their band in their profile description.

[edit]

The external link to their official page was a dead link that was a redirect to some kind of advert website, the edit was in good merit. Please check the actual edit instead of just reverting it because you 'think it was non constructive'. Please Help

[edit]

Hey Mayur! You were helping me with a Vandal issue and now I have come across something I am not sure how to fix. Can you look up Bradford Stroh's page please? How do I undo an edit like this? Basically the IP address 71.244.30.84 vandalized the page and then Antishill101 re-editted the same information this way I could not hit undo and correct it easily. Is there a way around this? Thanks in advance. Elementrider77 (talk) 04:48, 22 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Elementrider77, You can request for its semi-protection that will reduce effect of sockpupetry from this page.Cheers--Mayur (talkEmail) 07:36, 22 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, but how do I revert back to an old old version? They updated it several times so I could not simply hit undo and they made a ton of changes. 108.195.185.215 (talk) 19:05, 22 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Its very Simple first of all go to history the page and then click on revision you want to restore then click edit and save.Your desired version will be saved at the end.Cheers--Mayur (talkEmail) 19:07, 22 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I think I may have been fooled on this one but not sure. I traced the originating edit here, and I can't find anything on google to support the drink-driving claim... Timeshift (talk) 07:29, 22 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

As per wiki policies you can remove any unsourced and unreferenced content but whenever you are doing this you should have a proper reason for that and just mention it in edit summary.Cheers--Mayur (talkEmail) 07:34, 22 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, It appears that the warning you issued to me was in error. I was reverting a vandal's change which you picked up. I am assuming you are also using Huggle?? Yossiea (talk) 10:18, 23 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, it was an error or edit conflict case.It usually happens when two ediotrs are reverting same edit.--Mayur (talkEmail) 10:20, 23 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Cut it the hell out

[edit]

Please stop. YOU ARE ABUSING YOUR TOOLS. Removing unnecessary citation tags is not vandalism. You make a lot of edits like this. If I had any idea how to report you I would. Anyone got this on watch who can help me with that? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.240.90.180 (talk) 08:26, 24 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You was removing Citation tag without any explaination in edit summary thats why your edits were reverted.Thanks--Mayur (talkEmail) 08:29, 24 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I am struggling to be polite. You are abusing your tools. I don't NEED to enter a clear edit summary though it is ENCOURAGED. You are supposed to LOOK AT THE EDIT and ONLY REVERT VANDALISM with your tools. If you looked at the edit you would see it was fine or disputable at worst. Revert not vandalism as vandalism is bad. I see you do this often. Please show more caution. I looked for the rules to make sur. You arent allowed to use vandalism tools for anything isnt OBVIOUS VANDALISM. And removing tags IS NOT removing CONTENT. Anyone is allowed to just remove tags if the problem is fixed or dont exist. LOOK IT UP. One more thing. I apologize if I was too rude in my summaries. I will need to work on that. Civility blah blah blah. I know that sounds dismissive but I have nothing good to say about its requirement that I be a bullshitter. Its a rule though. I get that. Wont do it again if I can help it. Oh another though its dumb. How do I sign without tildes? it wont type on my keyboard. Do you know?

Just use --~~~~ at the end of your comment for signing.Cheers--Mayur (talkEmail) 08:58, 24 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Mayur … FYI, when an article's creator blanks a page, as occurred with Yannis Fagras (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views), then you should remind them of {{Db-author}} (since that was apparently their intention) instead of just restoring it. Hi,

actually, it was the edit you have removed what IMVHO made this article more honest and demanded the verifiability of this Wikipedia article. After your revert the article contains an unverified claim on a resonance. I could easily go back there and put citation needed in it.

Summing up, you seemed to want to remove an unverified claim, but in fact you did something very opposite - you removed the doubts and let an unverified claim to live. I don't know why you have done that - I know it is pretty easy to revert edits from an unlogged user - but please reconsider your edit.

And now the funniest part: this IP is public. The discussed edit was not mine, it is just from the same IP I am using right now and it was me who happened to be reading Wikipedia when I got your message. Fortunately or not, you managed to reach a Wikipedia sysop from an other Wikipedia language edition. :P The chance was actually pretty slim so you may think to go play some lottery or something. :)

Now I am logging in to make one fix and go.

But seriously, regarding this edit, if I were you I would reconsider it once again. And used a talk page. :)

Best regards (should you need a proof/contact) and happy editing, aegis maelstrom δ 12:11, 2 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on GARC - Chennai, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Credo Reference Update & Survey (your opinion requested)

[edit]

Credo Reference, who generously donated 400 free Credo 250 research accounts to Wikipedia editors over the past two years, has offered to expand the program to include 100 additional reference resources. Credo wants Wikipedia editors to select which resources they want most. So, we put together a quick survey to do that:

It also asks some basic questions about what you like about the Credo program and what you might want to improve.

At this time only the initial 400 editors have accounts, but even if you do not have an account, you still might want to weigh in on which resources would be most valuable for the community (for example, through WikiProject Resource Exchange).

Also, if you have an account but no longer want to use it, please leave me a note so another editor can take your spot.

If you have any other questions or comments, drop by my talk page or email me at wikiocaasi@yahoo.com. Cheers! Ocaasi t | c 17:24, 11 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Dinesh tyagi requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Faizan 17:53, 28 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of NATRAX

[edit]

The article NATRAX has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No indication of notability for this test facility.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
