I've had a warning from you re: my entry about Harry Ramsden's. I wrote all of the Undercover Boss section (after watching the programme this morning). What's the problem? Why am I being warned?
I was busy editing it! I wanted to move the section somewhere else and put some lettering into italics! THIS IS NOT VANDALISM AND I THINK IT IS VERY UNFAIR TO GIVE ME A "FINAL WARNING". It was my intelligent contribution and I was working on the layout. Could you kindly revoke the warning.
Hello ´but you should NOT empty sections because that can be decode as vandalism so could you please dont empty the sections, you should use PREVIEW button to preview your changes thank you ps remember to sign your talkpage comments ps2 at this time i will remove the note from your talkpage --Olli (talk) 07:59, 30 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Howdy,
Okay, I'll remember that (didn't know) in future. Thanks for un-warning me.
Hello, Olli! The instructors at the Counter-Vandalism Unit Academy have seen your hard work reverting vandalism, and we would like to thank you. But do you want to go to the next level? Would you like to know how reverts, warnings, reports, blocks, and bans all come together to keep this Encyclopedia free from disruption? Then consider enrolling today! You are cordially invited to join WikiProject Eurovision!
You appear to be someone that may be interested in joining WikiProject Eurovision. Please accept this formal invitation from a current member of the project.
We offer a place for you to connect with users who also like Eurovision and facilitate team work in the development of Eurovision articles.
Please note that there have been some changes to operations surrounding Eurovision articles, these being that:
Template names have now been modernised and/or megred into super-templates, for example Countries in the Eurovision Song Contest has now been merged into Template:Eurovision Song Contest making it even easier to find everything under one template. If you are planning to create a new template, please keep the standardised titles in mind. Other templates have been modernised and a full list of them can be found here.
The Eurovision Song Contest and Junior Eurovision Song Contest articles have now been standardised to keep a consitancy throughout the project and to the genral reader too. Skeleton article drafts can be found for Eurovision Song Contest by Year and Junior Eurovision Song Contest by Year.
You are receiving this message since you are listed as a member of WikiProject Eurovision. If you are no longer interested in contributing to Eurovision articles, please remove your username from this page.
Please be warm-hearted in encouraging everyone to do their best to contribute to all Eurovision-related Wikipedia articles, and welcome our new members to the project. Remember that this project can only operate if we act in a cooperative manner and engage in discussions regarding article matters. It is seen as best practice to put forward ideas to other members of the project before rushing ahead and acting on a potential falsifying action. If you feel an article may warrant a deletion, why not test the waters by opening a discussion on the article's talk page or our very own project talk page - before rushing off and submitting an AfD. It saves wasting time nominating an article for deletion which could end up with an overwhelming "keep" by other editors. Communicating with each other is a vital tool and a skill that may prove advantageous in real-life scenarios.
Also be on the look out for potential new members to the project. Post {{subst:EurovisionInvite}} (which will produced this template) on any user page you think is interested to join the WikiProject, to officially invite them to join.
If you would like something to appear in the October 2012 Edition of the newsletter, then please inform us at the Project Newsdesk.
If there is an article you think we should have? Request it here.
And finally... a massive thank you to all members of the project for your constant hard work on collaborating and contributing to Eurovision related articles. Keep up the good work team!
Please remember to keep checking the project articles that have been flagged up as an alert. Since our last publication the following alerts have flagged up:

On 11 May 2012, Norwegian, Eivind Holtsmark Ringstad, won the 16th Eurovision Young Musicians 2012, in Vienna, Austria. This is a biennial event, and the next contest will take place in 2014, with Vienna most likely to be the host nation for a fifth consecutive time.
Glasgow were the hosts of the Eurovision Dance Contest 2008, and since then there have been no announcements of the contest continuing with a third edition.
So far 25 countries have confirmed participation for the Eurovision Song Contest 2013, which is scheduled to take place in Sweden. Please remember to only cite reliable sources when adding countries to the article.
The tenth edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest is scheduled to take place on the 1 December 2012, in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Details about confirmed participation are slowly filtering out into the world wide web. Please cite reliable sources when including new information.
Albania announced on 25 July 2012 that they will make their début in Amsterdam, and Moldova confirmed their participation. Thus bringing the total number of confirmed participant to eleven countries so far.
Asiavision Pte's Our Sound: The Asia-Pacific Song Contest seems to have been indefinitely postponed. However, the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) are launching their own versions; which are not to be confused with Our Sound or Eurovision Song Contest. The "cultural extravaganza" concept may be the same, but the format is completely different. The Radio Festival will be competitive, while the TV Festival is just a showcase of music so is non-competitive.
ABU Radio Song Festival 2012 - Twenty-six entries from sixteen countries took part in a preliminary selection round. Of those, fifteen have been selected and will perform in the first ABU Radio Song Festival on 11 October 2012.
ABU TV Song Festival 2012 - Thirteen countries have confirmed participation in the first ABU TV Song Festival on 14 October 2012.

We would like to welcome the following new members who joined since our last publication.
It is important that all members of this project participate in the discussion so that we can share our views on how these articles should be presented, what content could do with being added/removed. If a consensus is reached and you have failed to participate then you only have yourself to blame if you disagreed with the layout style that has been reached.

Olli, you probably meant well in editing this memorandum, but please don't. These have been designed in a specific way and should only be altered by coordinators of the newsdesk team. Thanks Wesley♦Mouse14:27, 16 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
What you exactly mean by it? I just wanted to make it a bit simpler, since the current style is too colorful I think. And remember - Wikipedia is free, everyone can make edits - you should not restrict that ability. --Olli (talk) 17:21, 16 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, not all parts of Wikipedia is free some areas are restricted from editing. If it was an article, then yes anyone would be allowed to improve it, but as it is a newsletter belonging to Project Eurovision, then no - only the editorial coordinators have the right to edit/alter them. Wesley♦Mouse17:30, 16 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Its not just about making it "look better". This particular one is a mini-memo and needs to be short and precise. It is doing it sole purpose of providing brief notice to project members. The newsletter has also gone through a similar modification, but noting too drastic. Wesley♦Mouse17:42, 16 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
You're misquoting me now, I haven't said you attempted to change it longer. I was merely pointing out that this version is a shorter version for the purpose of issuing urgent notices; in comparison to the larger monthly project newsletter. Wesley♦Mouse17:46, 16 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The London Olympic and Paralympic games have ended, and just as their motto stated, they truly did inspire a generation. This got me thinking how could we as a project for Eurovision related material may be able to inspire the next generation of Eurovision fans? RfC discussions have already underway on the project talk page regarding article layouts, how we can better present our articles to provide a more in-depth knowledge into the contests. One such discussion in regards to layout of Contest by Year articles has already become a success, and provided the project with its first ever GA-class article. So in reality, implementing the same layout across other articles should produce the same output. A similar discussion into layout style for Country in a Contest related articles is also taking place. This project is constantly evolving as more and more editors join the team. We've redesigned the home page for Project Eurovision in a bid it entices new people to join the team. A project can't survive on stale movement, it needs evolution to add excitement to the project. So lets use October to inspire each other to do better, to work more collaboratively, and to entice the next generation of editors to the project team.
Also be on the look out for potential new members to the project. Post {{subst:EurovisionInvite}} (which will produced this template) on any user page you think is interested to join the WikiProject, to officially invite them to join.
If you would like something to appear in the next edition of Eurovision Monthly, then please inform us at the Project Newsdesk.

And finally... a massive thank you to all members of the project for your constant hard work on collaborating and contributing to Eurovision related articles. Keep up the good work team!
So far 35 countries have confirmed participation for the Eurovision Song Contest 2013, which is scheduled to take place in Malmö. Please remember to only cite reliable sources when adding countries to the article.
7 countries have announced the dates of their national finals.
Andorra, Czech Republic, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, and Morocco confirm they will not be present in Malmö.
Please can we also remember to keep this article well presented based on the layout that was agreed upon via the Project RfC. If in doubt, check Eurovision Song Contest 2012 as an example. That article is using the new layout format and gained the project it's first GA-class on annual pages. Let's maintain that high standard.
The tenth edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest is scheduled to take place on the 1 December 2012, in Amsterdam, Netherlands. 12 countries have confirmed their participation with Albania, Azerbaijan, and Israel making their début.
4 countries have already selected either a song, artists, or both. With 6 national selections taking place these next few weeks.
Azerbaijan, Israel, and Moldova have yet to announce their national selection plans.
ABU Radio Song Festival 2012 - Fifteen entries will perform in the first ABU Radio Song Festival on 11 October 2012. Please check for information on this contest as it happens and update the article accordingly.
ABU TV Song Festival 2012 - Eleven countries have confirmed participation in the first ABU TV Song Festival on 14 October 2012. Please check for information on this contest as it happens and update the article accordingly.
Mongolia who had already selected their representative, withdrew from the contest on 14 September.

I hope this isn't rude. Is it possible for you to answer these questions? Did you see Total Recall 2012 film? In this movie, since Colin Farrel's original identity got erased, is it because Colin Farrel honestly choose to be on the Resistance Side or is it because Colin wanted to help UFB locate the Resistance?(76.20.90.53 (talk) 02:24, 18 October 2012 (UTC)).[reply]
I noticed that you made some rather unusual alterations to Template:Eurovision Song Contest 2013 and a further contradictory alteration to the template on the main article Eurovision Song Contest 2013. What I found confusing is the template itself was already uncollapsed, yet you changed its status to collapsed, and then on the article you instructed the template to uncollapse. What was the point of that action? As the template itself was already in an uncollapsed state, then there was no need to instruct the article to carry out a function that was already in operation. Also the templates have been known to be a touchy subject on the project and result in a lot of unwanted and easily avoidable arguments between project members. You only need to check Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Eurovision/Archive 6#Template duplications from 7 months ago to see for yourself how vicious the debates over templates on the project can turn out. That one alone took a little over a month to resolve, and the result is the way the templates look at the moment. And in my honest opinion the way they are now have caused no further issues arising between members. My advice, if it isn't broken - don't fix it, just leave it be. If you think there could be minor improvements on them, raise the issues first on the project talk page, to prevent the over-heated debates turning nasty then they need to be. I've restored the two alterations back to their original status for now. Regards, Wesley♦Mouse16:59, 21 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Btw, are you good with templates? I would like to have same view/edit/discuss system to Finnish navigation things, but cannot get it work properly? May you please have a look. V/E/D template: fi:Malline:Nkm, Navigation template: fi:Malline:Avattava --Olli (talk) 17:06, 21 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict) Ahh I see. Before doing that then, I'd suggest you participate in the RfC discussion regarding article layout for Country in Eurovision pages first. Because we as a project community are review them entirely. Your action of changing on 2013 articles would mean we'd have to keep consistency and do the same on the other articles going back to 1956. And there's 100's if not 1000's of them. The way I was told over templates once is not to alter them in style/appearance without an overall project consensus first. I'd like to pass that advice on to you, as I'd hate to see you get caught up in any unwanted heated debates over the pesky things.
I'm confident enough with en:wiki templates, but not on other language versions, for one I don't know a word of Finnish, so wouldn't know what I'd be typing on the template instructions. Wesley♦Mouse17:09, 21 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Do our counterparts at fi:Wiki not have a help desk or village pump type area where you may be able to seek help on that matter? Might be worth checking. I've just checked, they don't have a help desk, but they do have a village pump see fi:Wikipedia:Kahvihuone. Wesley♦Mouse 6:14 pm, Today (UTC+1)
Ok. The Finnish community is a bit different than the English one. And for the template thing, you don't need to type the instructions. If you have time, please look the template, and you can give the changes to this talkpage, so I can try them. --Olli (talk) 17:14, 21 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I'm guessing you deleted my other comment by accident through an edit conflict? Anyhow I've restored it back as it had some good advice for you. As for adding V/E/D on templates over at fi:wiki, I wouldn't just go ahead an do it if I were you, as they are functions that are going to require a community-wide consensus and not just on random templates. You don't want to get yourself in trouble over there now do you. Wesley♦Mouse17:19, 21 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Oh ,sorry. Thanks for the tip. Like I said, the fiwiki community is different than English one. Not all changes require discussion. Btw, we do have better Esc template than English wikipedia has! :) You can use it this way: {{Esc|2012}} produces year link; {{Esc|Sweden}} produces country link; {{Esc|Sweden|l}} produces country link with flag In en-wp there is different for all those ;) --Olli (talk) 17:23, 21 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
You'll find different language counterparts do act differently, as they do here too. We cannot use the method that you have suggested as they produce flag icons not templates. For example, here at en:Wiki the code {{Esc|Sweden}} produced Sweden. They are all technical items which require a broader wiki-community consensus and not something we can just change when we want to. The English Eurovision template as the look now are a greater improvement from how they used to look, believe me. The previous discussion that was held allowed us to amalgamate templates together and reduce the number of templates we had by half. At the end of the day its making life easier for an editor and just have as minimal templates to maintain as possible - the current method at en:wiki allows this to happen. Wesley♦Mouse17:28, 21 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
We are almost at the end of another great Eurovision year, with preparations now well under way for the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest. Individual entry articles are slowly appearing at Template:Eurovision Song Contest 2013, although as happens every year, there is tendency to create these article prematurely. Please don't create them without a good two paragraphs of information to post, and with at least two reliable sources of information cited - remember every article has to pass the Wikipedia:Notability guideline independently.
There is a lot going on at WT:EURO at the moment too, and every project member should have this talk page on their watchlist. The current RfC on country article layout is suffering from a lack of participation - myself and others may not agree with every suggestion made, but we won't bite people's heads off, so please feel free to comment! If you feel like you'll be out of your depth over there, you should know that it was a suggestion by a newbie that resulted in a complete re-structuring of all Eurovion templates, so you don't have to be an "old timer" to bring new ideas to the table! On the same page is a proposal to re-license Eurovision logos uploaded locally, and since this will have a big impact on how we handle logos, some further feedback would be appreciated.

ABU Radio Song Festival 2012 - On 11 October 2012 the first ABU Radio Song Festival took place in the Korean capital of Seoul. South Korea won the Grand Prix award with the song "For a Rest" performed by boy band Billy Acoustie. Danielle Blakey representing Australia won the gold award with the song "Fearless", Brunei received the silver award with the song "The sweetest memory" performed by Maria Aires, with Sammy Ray Jones also representing Australia receiving the bronze award with his song "Rinet". K-Town Clan representing Malaysia received the special jury award with their song "Party Animal" and thus finished in fifth place.
ABU TV Song Festival 2012 - Eleven countries performed in the first ABU TV Song Festival on 14 October 2012. The contest was non-competitive and thus no winners.

With the festive season a matter of days away and 2012 rapidly drawing to a close, I'd like to take the time to reflect on the last 12 months as a project community, and look ahead to 2013. 2012 witnessed the period when Azerbaijan got to showcase their capital city Baku to the rest of Europe. Preparations for the contest were not the smoothest ever seen, but come the day of the contest everything seemed to have knitted together OK. Concerns over the longevity of the Junior Contest were also raised when the lowest participation ever recorded. Fans worried that the contest would be brought to an abrupt end, however, with 3 new countries debuting the contest went ahead as planned.
The project also seen the start of two new contests, ABU Radio Song Festival and ABU TV Song Festival, which were both staged in the Korean capital of Seoul. The host nation won the first edition of the festival. And so we look ahead to 2013, with Sweden hosting the Eurovision Song Contest for a fifth time, and for the second time in the city of Malmö. Vietnam is expected to host the 2013 ABU TV Song Festival, with the Radio Festival having a year break, which won't be hosted again until 2014 in Australia. Details about the 2013 Junior Eurovision Song Contest are still unknown. As always, be on the look out for potential new members to the project. Post {{subst:EurovisionInvite}} (which will produced this template) on any user page you think is interested to join the WikiProject, to officially invite them to join.

The Eurovision season is in full-swing, with many national selections taking place. Be on the look out for reliable sources and news content that may be used to keep the 2013 article as up to date as possible. There are also a couple of project discussions taking place at WT:ESC, it would be helpful if as many of the project members participated in them. Eurovision-fever is vast upon us with all songs and artists having already been selected, and the contest itself is just around the corner. So we as a collective need to be as vigilant as possible when it comes to content being updated to respective articles connected to Malmö 2013. Please remember to use citations to reliable sources on everything. If in doubt, then use the article talk page and/or the project talk page for open discussion.
The project has yet again gained another accolade on an annual article with the ABU TV Song Festival 2012 receiving GA classification. That is now 3 within a year, with the first being Eurovision Song Contest 2012 back in July last year, and ABU Radio Song Festival 2012 being the second last month. Congratulations once again to everyone who has helped to contribute to those respective articles. Now that we're gaining high accolades, let's see if we can maintain that by continuing to work as a team.

Hi. To clarify why I removed 'disaster' from the current event template, it is normal English usage to only use the term in relation to an accidental and unexpected event - and clearly this was no accident. AndyTheGrump (talk) 05:29, 16 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
With less than a month to go until we find out who is the winner of the Eurovision Song Contest 2013, the article itself is already looking impressive and is written with such broad scope and covering almost every piece of news in an encyclopaedic style of course. The show hasn't even started and the article is looking very much like a GA-class article. Well done everyone for helping to maintain the high standards of editing on articles as well as engaging in open discussion via the talk pages. Hopefully this should be helping to increase team moral with the project - keep up the good work folks! The ABU have announced the host city for the ABU TV Song Festival 2013 which is due to take place on 26 October 2013. Please could everyone keep a look out across the worldwide web for any news on the festival itself and update the article accordingly.

This article is coming along very nicely. Very impressed that members are adhering to the layout style and working cooperatively and peacefully as a team. Already the article is looking like a promising GA classification similar to Eurovision Song Contest 2012, and the contest hasn't even begun. Continue with the good work.
The contest itself begins next month, so please keep an eye out for any latest news that may be relevant for inclusion to the article. If in doubt, then open up a new discussion thread either at Talk:Eurovision Song Contest 2013 or the Project talk page, as communication is an important tool if we aim to collaborate as part of a team.
The second ABU TV Song Festival is scheduled to take place on 26 October 2013, in the Vietnamese capital of Hanoi. The host broadcaster will be Vietnam Television.
The article is already up and running. Your help to improve the article is gratefully appreciated. Keep a look out for news articles regarding participations etc. So far only the host nation Vietnam are confirmed.
ABU Radio Song Festival 2014 - It was announced on 11 October 2012 that the 2014 Radio Festival will take place in Australia hosted by radio broadcaster ABC Australia. As it is too soon to start work on the new article, can we please try and avoid creating one. Unless of course, there's enough information out there that would warrant an early creation.
Hi Olli, I fully understand why you would think the withdrawals shouldn't be mentioned in the participation section per your edit summary comment, but that particular section is rather small and needs some expansion. As the withdrawals are mentiond in the lead and the other countries part, there is no harm in also mentioning in brief the same information in the participations section. It helps to build an article into a GA class article, and potentially a Feature Article if we decided to go to that next phase in the near future, and I have successfully managed to get 3 WP:ESC articles to GA classification in the past, with ESC2013 being my next ambitious goal. I have therefore restored the content. If you have any questions, feel free to raise them via Talk:Eurovision Song Contest 2013. Regards, Wesley♦Mouse17:39, 12 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
It may also be worth noting that a similar procedure was used on ESC 2012, in which the withdrawals were mentioned in the same 'Participating countries' section as well as the 'Other countries' section. Wesley♦Mouse17:53, 12 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for the explanation, I understand it. Hopefully you will be watching Eurovision, too! :) I cannot wait for the first semifinal to begin... Finland's entry is going to be presented in 2nd semifinal.--Olli (talk) 17:56, 12 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
You're very welcome for the explanation. Since the 2012 article gained GA classification, it has raised the barrier of standards for Project Eurovision, with the goal to get as many articles to a GA standard, so that we can be seen as a worthy project that writes excellent articles. Well we have a winner of the Eurovision Song Contest 2013, and the 2014 article is already up and running. However, the work on the 2013 edition is still not complete. Over the next few weeks many editors will be doing the final clean-up operation on the article, and we hope to achieve yet another GA classification on the article in the coming months. We will of course keep you all updated of the progress via the newsletter.
But if you are already starting to get Eurovision withdrawal symptoms, then don't panic. We have the ABU TV Song Festival in Vietnam to look forward to, as well as the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Kiev. Your contributions to both of these articles are gratefully appreciated. Remember it is teamwork collaborations that help to make this project a success.

Just in case you've been sleeping under a rock recently, "Only Teardrops", by Danish singer Emmelie de Forest won the 58th Eurovision Song Contest with a score of 281 points.
In what is becoming a regularity with new Eurovision articles, they are potential subjects to vandalism, so be on guard and revert any vandalistic edits.
Also make sure you only add verified content to the article, including countries that have confirmed.
Avoid using the term "possible debut", "possible return", and "possible withdrawal". The term possible makes us sound speculative and is prohibited per Crystal Ball guidelines. Any such information should be added to the "Other countries" section, with a citation for verifiability.

Another month has gone by and with plenty of ups and downs within this project. An RfC has been rebooted on the project talk page (see Project Alerts below for more details). The OGAE articles are undergoing a complete rewrite to make these articles look more presentable and give more encyclopaedic value to them. They were in a disastrous and neglected state previously, so it is about time they got some well needed TLC treatment given to them all. Eurovision Song Contest 2013 is looking near completed, and in preparation for a GA-class submission. A huge thank you to all those who have contributed on that article in the last 12 months - some WikiLove to everyone for your continuous teamwork.

There is a RFC taking place on the project talk page which could do with as many members contributing to it. Your say will help to achieve consensus on how '[Country]' in the Eurovision Song Contest articles should be stylised and written more encyclopaedically for the general audience and not just for the average ESC-fan. Please KEEP IT CIVIL!!!
Eurovision Song Contest 2013 will shortly be going through the annual process of a post-Contest tidy-up, in preparation for a GA-class submission. We will keep you posted of that process in due course.
OGAE and other articles relating to the organisation are going through an extensive rewriting exercise. Some of the article were in a very poor state, with the lead section of OGAE being an exact word-for-word copy of the "about us" section of OGAE's Facebook page. This was a violation of WP:COPYVIO, and has now been averted thanks to Wesley's hard work fixing the articles.
