Help?
@SafariScribe Hello SafariScribe. Thank your for your review of my draft Draft:Aris_Papageorghiou. You suggested I needed to add more sources, so I have done this and also added a secion on selected articles. I am new to this so I hope this is now acceptable (I have used templates from other bios and note many have much less source material). Hope this is to your satisfaction, let me know as I have lots more bios I want to do to highlight in this important area of medicine!
@SafariScribe Hello SafariScribe, thank your for your kind offer to help me improve my draft Draft:Bertrand_Malmendier. You do not need to delete the sources and the promotional stuff yourself. For a start, it's enough if you tell me the critical points. My text is a non-judgmental list that also contains criticism of Malmendier as a person. So please tell me which elements are not formulated neutrally from your point of view. By the way: The article about Malmendier was accepted in the German Wikipedia; isn't that proof of quality?. ;-) Thank you very much! Guido von Crema (talk) 12:38, 31 July 2024 (UTC)
@SafariScribe I am wondering why my Draft:Shammai_Kancepolsky was declined due to unreliable sources? My sources are generally news articles and while some are in a foreign language, I did not think that would make them unreliable. A similar article was published using many of these sources on the Hebrew Wikipedia page about the same subject and I am confused as to why there are different standards. Please let me know if there is any chance the article can be published with these primary and secondary sources. Thanks so much!@Tamsragow
@SafariScribe dear safari why did you decline my quantum economic model article. I'm kinda new to wikipedia. Can you help me improve it, you can edit things that you may see as unfit, also I'm Kevin Randal Rulach, I'm the formulator of this concept, so I have full rights to it. I want to publish this in Wikipedia, it would be a great help if you can look into it and make the necessary changes as required by wikipedia. also share your whatsapp if possible. @krypton369 @krypton369
@SafariScribe Can I ask (just ask) why my Draft:Gianluca_Neri contribution was rejected due to a lack of sources, when there are 31 sources cited, mostly from popular magazines and newspapers? Thank you. Tiziano (talk) 18:10, 08 Jul 2024 (UTC+1)
What happened to our working draft? I went to save a change and the sandbox no longer exists? SusunW (talk) 17:16, 11 May 2024 (UTC)
- It looks like you asked for it to be deleted? Why? The point is to preserve the history by pointing to the sandbox edits and finish working on sections. I am confused, since I only asked you to move the first section back to the main article. SusunW (talk) 17:25, 11 May 2024 (UTC)

- Okay, I was able to talk to my mom and everything is okay with her for the moment. Please slow down and do not rush the article. As I said, it will take time and we need to get it right. I told you that I wasn't finished reviewing the LGBT material that was already in the main article, but it is not there anymore and the legacy section is gone. No worries, I will pull what I need from the history. Please note, I plan processes and am a very methodical worker, especially in a peer review. I cannot function well or sign off that things have been completed if the process I outlined is ignored. Of course any time you want, you can stop the peer review, but if you want me to continue mentoring you, please do not anticipate/ignore my instructions. If I ask you to do steps 1, 2, and 3, please do those and stop. Certainly we can discuss things, but I need things to happen in a certain order, unless we mutually agree on another plan. I need to regroup, lots going on right now, but I'll come back to the review later, hopefully today. SusunW (talk) 18:10, 11 May 2024 (UTC)
- I came back to work, but cannot. All of the edits I made this morning to style have disappeared. When you get the sandbox restored, ping me if you want to continue collaborating. I don't have the energy to find all of the sources and rewrite what I already wrote today. SusunW (talk) 19:22, 11 May 2024 (UTC)

How do I make my Wikipedia article famous online? --BenjaminSchmidt745 (talk) 19:52, 12 May 2024 (UTC)
- Hi and welcome. I answered that in your first question. Remember that an editor is discouraged to create an article about his/herself and should follow certain rules especially the WP:COI. Can I see the article in question. Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 19:55, 12 May 2024 (UTC)
- The COVID-19 pandemic ended in April 2024. The virus officially became an endemic virus. The pandemic ended because many people stopped dying and it was no longer a leading cause of death. The COVID-19 virus causes most people to have mild or cold-like symptoms, many have moderate symptoms like they do for the flu, and some even have severe symptoms. However, very few died and it is less common to have severe symptoms than it was before. Most people with mild to moderate symptoms do not get long-COVID. The people that are at risk of dying or having severe symptoms are very immunocompromised people or the elderly, but even most elderly people still survive and most of them have mild to moderate symptoms. COVID-19 is seasonal. COVID-19 now occurs high and has waves in the fall and winter, and goes downhill in spring and summer and waits to come back again in fall and winter. You can still get COVID-19 in the spring and summer, but it is not very common. You may hear people year-round complaining they have the flu or COVID-19, but you should no longer expect to get COVID-19 in spring or summer. However, COVID-19 and the flu are not common in spring or summer, but it is not rare. COVID-19 has mutated so much since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic and has gotten slowly overtime more mild. This is due to people getting herd immunity and natural immunity to COVID-19. This stopped infections killing people as much and the newer variants have become more contagious than they were before, but are more mild and less damaging to our immune systems and for long-COVID or death. Hundreds of people in the world are still dying from COVID-19, but comparing the number of infections this number does seem mild. This number is fewer than the deaths of car crashes now, thankfully. COVID-19 is here to stay and is not leaving. This marks the virus as endemic. We have already had four endemic coronaviruses, and this is our fifth endemic coronavirus that we are just going to have to deal with. We may expect more pandemics and even coronaviruses in the future, but we are in an endemic for now. The COVID-19 pandemic was expected at the start of the pandemic for the virus to be eradicated, but at least it is a seasonal thing and less severe. There were many reasons why COVID-19 was never eradicated. Most people are now living regular pre-COVID lives like they were and it is happening again. There are many variants of COVID-19 and it is hard to stop and it is already in animals and that means it is hard if not impossible to eradicate now. The number of people that test positive for an infection are lower than they were before, but that is because COVID-19 tests do not work as well. Sadly this is true, but you can always use a COVID-19 test at your doctor's office or pharmacy. The good news is that COVID-19 is usually mild and will not require a test and you will have the virus without knowing it or needing a test. The COVID-19 pandemic has officially ended and became endemic in April 2024. This is good news for the world! BenjaminSchmidt745 (talk) 20:18, 12 May 2024 (UTC)

Babita
Do you know why this move request was not relisted, even though there was still a debate about it? --Jax 0677 (talk) 21:48, 12 May 2024 (UTC)
- Hi @Jax 0677,
- There was consensus based on the fact that the page views makes Babita the primary topic over the rest in the DAB page. Though I gave a little weight to your proposal because the one you said of, was already in the DAB page and still not the primary topic. I hope you understand. Thanks. Safari ScribeEdits! Question from Alex.Dybala (20:14, 14 May 2024)
Hi.
I have added a table identical to this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serie_A_Player_of_the_Month#Multiple_winners
When I move it to the main Serie A page, it comes up, but not the flag. Can you help? --Alex.Dybala (talk) 20:14, 14 May 2024 (UTC)

Question from Alex.Dybala (21:50, 14 May 2024)
I've added a new image of Paulo Dybala (I know I'm obsessed with him but thats besides the point) which can be used but when adding AS Roma tag below, no link appears. Could you fix and explain how I can for the future?
Thanks --Alex.Dybala (talk) 21:50, 14 May 2024 (UTC)

- I just want to be able to update any info I can do on my favourite topics :) Alex.Dybala (talk) 22:02, 14 May 2024 (UTC)
- Couldn't "Dybala in 2023" be changed to Dybala playing for (A.S Roma|AS Roma) in 2023 Alex.Dybala (talk) 22:04, 14 May 2024 (UTC)
- No, leave it as it is in the current state. Remember you can say "with football". Best, for images, it's written in the circa or date. Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 22:09, 14 May 2024 (UTC)

Question from Alex.Dybala (04:43, 15 May 2024)
Is this normal? When I search up Paulo Dybala on the search bar, the face isn't centred in the photo. Is there anyway to fix that? --Alex.Dybala (talk) 04:43, 15 May 2024 (UTC)
- Thats not the goal of Wikipedia. You can usually see images on the third image carousel of a Google panel. It isn't necessary and you should focus on editing or creating more articles that will be beneficial. Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 06:03, 15 May 2024 (UTC)
Unexplained CSD tag removal and misuse of rollback
Is there a particular reason you removed a CSD tag from Return to Oz(song)? I also noticed that you used rollback to do so, which doesn't fit any of the criteria listed at WP:ROLLBACKUSE.
Your most recent rollback uses, ignoring those in which you were reverting yourself:
- Return to Oz(song) – Inappropriate usage to remove a valid CSD tag, one which I would have processed and deleted personally
- Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie – Inappropriate usage, the user had just moved some text to a new paragraph, though you did self revert
- List of My Hero Academia characters – Inappropriate usage, not obvious vandalism, reverting refactoring/wording
- Bombing of Dresden – Does not appear rollback worthy, appears to be content dispute
- Leif Erikson – Not great usage. Appears to be content dispute where a user may have believed they were trimming unnecessary bits
- Kfar Danis – Appropriate usage, rv unexplained removal of content
- Cathedral High School (Texas) – Appropriate usage. Reverting advertising, the reason is clear.
- List of the largest municipalities in Canada by population – Inappropriate usage, this was a content dispute.
- Eklashpur High School – I guess appropriate usage, restored an AfD that had been removed, but better served using an undo and edit summary explaining they shouldn't have removed the AfD template
If you keep up without being more careful about your rollback usage you will likely end up losing the perm. Pinging the granter (@Malinaccier) in case they wish to comment. Hey man im josh (talk) 16:12, 15 May 2024 (UTC)
- @Hey man im josh, I will take note of that. Thanks for the impactful concern. Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 17:10, 15 May 2024 (UTC)
- Hi @Hey man im josh, thanks for looping me in. SafariScribe, please make sure to only use rollback for obvious cases of vandalism. Basically, you should never use rollback any time that you ought to be writing an edit summary. If this pattern continues, any administrator can remove the permission without further warning, so please be careful. Malinaccier (talk) 18:53, 15 May 2024 (UTC)

Tagging pages for speedy deletion
Hello, SafariScribe,
Please review Criteria for Speedy Deletion so you are better familiar with the criteria for speedy deletion. Do not tag pages for speedy deletion unless they meet a CSD criteria EXACTLY. You can not make up reasons why a page should be speedied. For example, redirects are not deleted because the page title is close to an article title. In fact, that is a good reason to create a redirect because it is close to an actual article title.
It's very important if you are going to be patrolling to correctly tag pages for speedy deletion because they all need to be reviewed and it wastes other editors' time if they need to review and decline pages you have tagged for speedy deletion. The best way to avoid this is to know the CSD criteria so well that you get it right every time. Some of the criteria seem obvious but the wording for them is very precise so never guess, if you aren't sure then go to WP:CSD to confirm your suspicions. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 23:56, 16 May 2024 (UTC)
- @Liz, thanks for reminding me. I was a bit confused there, thank God it has been clarified and i'do be more careful in the future. Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 00:11, 17 May 2024 (UTC)

- @Defendersofhistory If only you read what c:COM:NETCOPYVIO said before uploading those images. Without doing any personal explanation, let me copy-paste what it says here for you.
:::The fact that an image has been posted to a publicly-available website does not give you implied permission to re-use it nor to upload it here. Many websites are silent on copyright issues, but images on those sites are just as off-limits as those on sites which explicitly say "Copyright, all rights reserved". Works are copyrighted by default in most countries due to their agreement with the c:Berne Convention; a copyright notice or a © sign is not needed.
- This is quite self-explanatory, do not pick images from random websites and upload to Commons unless you have been given the permission from the original owner of the image to reuse the image and it follows Commons' c:COM:LICENSE. Vanderwaalforces (talk) 12:46, 17 May 2024 (UTC)
- @VanderwaalforcesThanks for ur Kind Reply.. I want to inform you that, the so called image has been uploaded by me in my Instagram page and I have not issued any copyright to it so far. I have not borrowed or downloaded those images from any public platform. It has been uploaded by my team itself. If it's a copyright violation, fine let it be. I have no issues. - I want it moved back and reopened. I have been planning to comment. It is obvious if you look back at the history of that discussion that it has been contentious for years and years. It should not have been closed prematurely. Only two people commented before the premature closure. Per WP:RMEC, RMs should "should remain open for at least seven days (168 hours)", with few exceptions — BarrelProof (talk) 12:56, 17 May 2024 (UTC)
- @BarrelProof, you seemed to be somewhat arguing as if my close wasn't correctly done. There is already a clear consensus and per same WP:RMEC, it's few days to the closure but still, there is already a consensus. I have requested the technical reversion of the move while you continue your edits thereafter. Thanks! Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 13:07, 17 May 2024 (UTC)

- @BarrelProof, before I could reopen it, it has been technically moved. If you insist of getting the previous title, I wouldn't mind calling for the revert. Or you request another move. Thanks! Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 12:53, 17 May 2024 (UTC)

User talk:E-358-lit
While your intent in doing this was obviously in good faith, you were interrupting an ongoing conversation. There was no need to archive the discussion, and per WP:USERTALKSTOP should not have been done. The user had already expressed their desired changes on the article's talk page, and I was trying to assist the user without having a bunch of policy/guideline/essay pages thrown at them. Some of what I was expressing to them had nothing to do with the article directly, and had to do with Wikipedia in general as well. I have reverted your removal of the content. Let E-358-lit do that if they so choose to do so. Thanks, --Hammersoft (talk) 20:38, 17 May 2024 (UTC)
- @Hammersoft, Oh! My bad, sorry for the misinterpretation. If the discussion is still on course, please help me unarchive it. Thanks. Please I do hope you aren't angry? Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 20:42, 17 May 2024 (UTC)

- Sorry @SafariScribe, I posted the same question below but blanked it since Hammersoft beat me to it. Fully understand your intention was to clean up some huge walls of text, especially since some of the comments were tagged as potential self promotion. I would only say that I don't think there are many cases where one should archive discussions on other people's talk pages. That could be very confusing to a newcomer as well, so it might be best to try to avoid it in the future. But, no harm no foul. Mokadoshi (talk) 20:57, 17 May 2024 (UTC)

History
I Hello, it would be better if u make a change in the history of the Diocese. It's now incomplete and mis leading. U may use the history in the official website of the diocese as a reliable source. Thank u Defendersofhistory (talk) 02:32, 18 May 2024 (UTC)
- Defendersofhistory, I'm not SafariScribe (and I'm also not a "u"), but I have some questions here. You were talking, above, about things NOT being copyright violations--well, you can't just copy and paste things, and even if there had been the proper license (same with the Instagram pictures), this was not a good edit. This is an encyclopedia, not a copy of y'all's website. Now, when I look at Roman Catholic Diocese of Cochin, I see that SafariScribe has done a lot of work of exactly the kind that Wikipedians should be doing. I have not seen you work on that article, besides two small edits. Finally, no, the "official website of the diocese" is not automatically a reliable source, I'm afraid: it's a primary source, one that's obviously not neutral, which leads me to my last point--but that will be clear by the COI template I'm about to put on your talk page. Move request at talk:Valianivske
I am not going to contest it, because it is useless, just to remark here that none of the supports is policy based (none of them tried to argue WP:COMMONNAME as required by the policy, which must have been the focus of the discussion), and that saying that I did not provide any evidence means that you have not looked at the article. Pretty bad close in my opinion. Ymblanter (talk) 08:09, 21 May 2024 (UTC)
- @Ymblanter, I noticed the move lacking "relist" after a certain period of time. I know where you are going to, however, I took the source presented by the nominator and the other "support" (against your rationale). I don't find what you argued as provided with no source and per Roman Spinner, the lede was as the proposed title sourced too. I know it was bad but I also want to know you're happy forgiving the mishap. Do you mind I do reopen it? Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 08:21, 21 May 2024 (UTC)
- Yes, I think it is fine to reopen. I do not necessarily argue against the move (otherwise I would have voted oppose), but I want the move to be based on policy-based arguments and not on opinions of users who in some way are affiliated with one side of the conflict. If there is no evidence of COMMONNAME at the moment, may be it should be closed as no consensus, and we can wait for the evidence. Thanks for considering this and being responsive. Ymblanter (talk) 08:31, 21 May 2024 (UTC)
- Sorry, forgot to comment about the lede. It is a remnant of an undiscussed move. Ymblanter (talk) 08:31, 21 May 2024 (UTC)
- @Ymblanter, I have reopened it and thanks for being diplomatic. I am worthy grateful. Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 08:42, 21 May 2024 (UTC)
- Great, thanks. Ymblanter (talk) 08:44, 21 May 2024 (UTC)
- It was of course just reclosed (the closer presumably thought it was reopened in error), and the same team of biased users went on to provide literally the same arguments for other pages. I just took all of them off my watchlist. Ymblanter (talk) 19:09, 23 May 2024 (UTC)
- @Ymblanter, I didn't see that, and I am so sorry. It's now I am seeing the closure and just thought of same too. Please don't remove them from your watchlist, they are needed for upkeep. I will reopen the discussion for further consensus because it's more than necessary. Thanks. Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 22:29, 23 May 2024 (UTC)
- @Ymblanter, I've also discussed it https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Paine_Ellsworth#Talk:Valianivske#Requested_move_14_May_2024 and in any case if you insist, a new one could be opened or an informal discussion in the talk page. Any opinion? Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 01:20, 24 May 2024 (UTC)
- I would just let it go. If the current situation is that multiple closers move multiple pages on a request of two clearly partisan users who have no policy-based arguments, there is very little I can do about it. We just need to remember that this area of Wikipedia is full of propaganda which was deliberately added there. Ymblanter (talk) 05:31, 24 May 2024 (UTC)
- To be clear, SafariScribe, you can reopen an RM if you also revert the move. But reopening without reverting the move is what caused this to be a "malformed request".
- I also came here because I noticed you've been closing several RMs before 7 days have elapsed. When you do that, you should note that it is an early closure (WP:RMEC) and why you're closing it early. I would recommend not closing them early unless there is some special reason not to wait the standard 7 days. SilverLocust 💬 05:43, 27 May 2024 (UTC)
- @SilverLocust, thank you for that observance. However, I do close pages move request earlier when I know there is already a consensus. Thanks. Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 05:45, 27 May 2024 (UTC)

Thank you for your work on Draft:David Wicht
Forgive my curiosity, may I ask what prompted you to take the task on?
The reason I ask is that the creating editor first solicited me on my talk page to write this article, presumably for pay since she is a paid editor, and then asked me where she might find other editors willing to write the article, presumably for pay.
I am not casting aspersions on your motives, nor am I accusing you of writing this for pay. I think the draft needed the massive improvements you are bringing to it. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 09:44, 21 May 2024 (UTC)
- Ah! Now I understand. I see you were prompted by kindness. Thank you, and, perhaps, please forgive my impertinence. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 09:47, 21 May 2024 (UTC)
- @Timtrent, you were the one who inspired me to take in that draft. I was about replying an edit at AFC/help board and saw your comments, which made me to look at your contributions and then to talk. Seeing the draft also, I saw your comment of passing FILM PRODUCER. Welp, I wasn't invited my anyone but I hate seeing much comment without helping the draft. I also know I am not looking at any payment because if so, I would have not being happy with the editor since I hate paid editing. I just use my time making a difference, such unwanted to make in Simon Ekpa, and the many from the ongoing peer review on Adichie. Look the the editors talk page too and see my message there. Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 09:50, 21 May 2024 (UTC)
- Yes, after I posted I saw your interaction with the creating editor. I see true altruism in you. I do hope your work doesn't allow her to be paid. She deserves no pay for the work she has done.
- Probably, it would be wise to submit it for review after you have made it as good as you can, and allow it to sink or swim. I think it will swim. Other eyes are always good when we finish a difficult task. I will not review it again, though it is now in a radically different state after your excellent and brutal edits 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 10:01, 21 May 2024 (UTC)
- I am sad too to see myself edit for an editor who will make no impact. But aside from that, if we don't help out, though she/they are loosing but it doesn't leave the fact that the article may be notable and it's out of good faith. Thanks for that as we all help in clearing the heavy backlog. It as much love cleaning up articles, it leaves me with joy of seeing good and neat articles. Thanks for the encouragement. Speedy deletion nomination of Boots (Dora the Explorer) (disambiguation)
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Boots (Dora the Explorer) (disambiguation) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G14 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a disambiguation page which either
- disambiguates only one extant Wikipedia page and whose title ends in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic);
- disambiguates zero extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title; or
- is an orphaned redirect with a title ending in "(disambiguation)" that does not target a disambiguation page or page that has a disambiguation-like function.
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. How to edit semi protect pages. --User : God devotee 12:45, 29 May 2024 (UTC)
- Hello @God devotee, and welcome to Wikipedia. To make an edit to a semi-protected page, you have to make the edit request per WP:PP if you are a new user or for any level of protection.
- You can do that by clicking the blue button.

Page mover
It looks like you may need page mover rights soon, given your WP:RM closures (meeting the third criterion at WP:PMCRITERIA). Obviously, you have made more than 3,000 edits, meeting the second criterion. The only problem is that you have not yet been a registered user for at least 6 months, so you may ask for those rights as soon as July 13 or later (to meet the first criterion), if you answer "no" for the following question (meeting the fourth criterion):
Have you had any recent behavioral blocks or WP:3RR violations?
GTrang (talk) 16:48, 29 May 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you @GTrang. I have had such an invitation in the early days but as it stands, I don't meet the criterion 1 of WP:PMCRITERIA. I wouldn't mind reaching the six months. Thanks. Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 17:04, 29 May 2024 (UTC)
Hi, thank you for your contributions. I'll note that your close of this discussion is premature; RMs should stay open at least 7 days. 162 etc. (talk) 17:04, 29 May 2024 (UTC)
- Per WP:RMEC, the closure is considerable as WP:SNOWCLOSE. I have also made up not closing earlier than expected. I appreciate your kind intentions and who am I not to incorporate them. Thank you. Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 17:10, 29 May 2024 (UTC)
- Clearly, I support the end result, since I proposed the move. However, less than 48 hours (!) is not enough time for an RM, even though all the editors involved thus far have supported the proposed title. Not everybody is on this website on a daily basis, and others should have the time to be involved too. 162 etc. (talk) 19:03, 29 May 2024 (UTC)
- I get it. Even if you weren't the proposer, there is always need that I shall reopen (which I will not live to do after cautions). Great thanks 162 etc. Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 19:15, 29 May 2024 (UTC)
- Please also stop closing/relisting RMs after 6 days. WP:RMEC is very clear about what it means by 7 days: 168 hours. That is, when the request is below WP:RMC#Elapsed listings. There was no reason, for example, to close Talk:Theodore Morse 22 hours early with only 3 participants. SilverLocust 💬 04:38, 2 June 2024 (UTC)
- @SilverLocust, I am not doubting your good faith intentions and previous correction. However, I also know that when a move request is highly likely to be 'move', onw should go ahead and same applicable vice versa. I don't think there will be move review for that. Thanks. Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 04:49, 2 June 2024 (UTC)
- I was writing a reply at the technical request before it was withdrawn, so I'll just put it here.
- The norm is for RMs to be left open for 7 days so that people have that opportunity to see the discussion. Some editors, including me, will check RMs more often when they are near elapsing (6–7 days) to see if we want to comment, rather than when they were first opened. There have been several times that I have opposed an uncontested request after six or seven days. "
It can sometimes be better to allow a few extra days even if current discussion seems very clearly to hold one opinion, to avoid precluding significant input and as a courtesy to ensure that it really will be a snowball
" (emphasis added) (quoting WP:RMEC). - And it's not enough that the request looks obviously correct, unless "
there is clearly no need at all to prolong discussion further
" (emphasis added). For example, a snow close may be useful when the request is nonsensical, or when it is actively wasting the time of many users, or when it is a repeat request of a recently closed RM. - It is considerably more common to have a "not moved. WP:SNOW" closure [1] than a "moved. WP:SNOW" closure [2], since WP:SNOW is more focused on when "
an issue has no chance of succeeding
". It's much easier to conclude that an argument that has been made has no possible chance of success rather than that all possible counterarguments that nobody has yet offered have no chance of success.) - Also, early closures should have a closing comment that makes clear that it was closed early, so that people are aware of that. This can be as simple as adding the comment "WP:SNOW" after the result. SilverLocust 💬 04:01, 3 June 2024 (UTC)
- Now I grasp the major points. Thank you many times @SilverLocust. Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 04:04, 3 June 2024 (UTC)

However, less than 48 hours (!) is not enough time for an RM, even though all the editors involved thus far have supported the proposed title. Speedy deletion nomination of New York Knickerbockers (disambiguation)
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on New York Knickerbockers (disambiguation) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G14 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a disambiguation page which either
- disambiguates only one extant Wikipedia page and whose title ends in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic);
AFC Champions League 2 move
I'm confused because I was showing Support to move AFC Champions League -2 → AFC Champions League Two – not to AFC Cup. At first, it was announced as AFC Champions League 2, but was later officially branded as AFC Champions League Two. So the article title should be AFC Champions League Two. That appears to be what the majority are supporting. So why has it gone back to the AFC Cup article name when you moved it? Matilda Maniac (talk) 14:16, 31 May 2024 (UTC)

This is surely one of your interests. I should have earlier informed you but it's never too late. It's a new article which I created and it needs expansion. You would help? (Chat With Term)talk 17:07, 13 June 2024 (UTC)
I saw that you draftified this page. The draftification was highly inappropriate. I was, as a matter of fact, already reviewing this and I am sure you're aware of that. I am sure you did not review this article, or you were just hurriedly trying to take it off the NPP queue (and putting it in the AfC queue?). I would have done that if the article was that bad or had serious problems, but I didn't because I thought and still think the few issues are ones that could be fixed right at mainspace without draftifying it. Remember, marking an article as reviewed does not mean you're giving it complete approval, and you must not mark every article you see as reviewed, you could simply leave it for someone else to review. If you're not sure of a reason to take it to articles for deletion, you're not sure of a CSD tag to use and you're not going to ask someone else, then draftifying it will not be the best thing either. Kindly move it back to mainspace as your draftification was inappropriate and wasn't the best thing to do. Vanderwaalforces (talk) 20:52, 13 June 2024 (UTC)
- I'm sorry to have stepped your toes while you may have been waking the floor (override). First off correction, no one was in haste to remove the article from the queue. To be honest, I actually reviewed the article and I would say it was written well but the sources never supported the article. As you have informed me, it's best you review it as a draft because it has gross sourcing issue. However if you insist, please go ahead and move back the draft. So much sorry for the early inconvenience. Cheers! Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 21:00, 13 June 2024 (UTC)

Can you help me understand the rejection better here. Re: reliable sources, this are very legitimate publications I've included. There is more coverage on the man, but I pared it down to the most known, vetted, and credible publications. SinemaBuff (talk) 16:58, 15 June 2024 (UTC)
- Hi @SinemaBuff, I just happened upon this comment and can give you my 2c as another AfC reviewer: we don't normally have articles on people notable for only one creation unless they are really notable for that one thing (think Harper Lee and To Kill a Mockingbird). For a single creation, we'd usually write a little bit on the article on that work instead. You might want to adapt the two sentences you have at the beginning of "career" to put into Heaven Adores You. But that's from 2014 - he's had a whole decade to make other films. There's really nothing more recent that has also attracted critical attention? -- asilvering (talk) 18:03, 16 June 2024 (UTC)

Biographies of academics
Hi there! Thanks for helping out at AfC. I just resubmitted and accepted an academic biography you declined, H. Glenn Penny. When you write a decline comment for this sort of article, could you please avoid suggesting things like remove the primary sources or ones directly connected to the article
? It's actually fine to have sources that are directly connected to the subject, so telling someone to remove all of them will really confuse new editors. You're correct that the article didn't have any independent sources, so something like "please add sources that are not connected to the subject" would have been fine. However, for academics who have written a few books, since they're almost certainly notable (as you noted), more helpful would be to explain specifically what is needed, with a comment like "can you please provide citations to academic reviews of the subject's books?"
Even better, you might want to save the submitter some aggravation and just go ahead and add some qualifying reviews yourself so that they meet WP:NAUTHOR and you can accept it. For historians it's usually very easy to find some qualifying reviews with a search on google scholar or jstor, so you don't need to dig very hard or have access to any special databases. This is what I did for that article and it took me less time than it's taken me to write this comment. Easy fix and helps the other editor a lot. -- asilvering (talk) 17:57, 16 June 2024 (UTC)
- Well written @Asilvering I have gotten the comment and will use it when necessary. Though I have taken a lot of draft up after accepting them because I know they were created by new editors, who may not have understood the guidelines. Thank you for getting it right. I even had planned on adding sources to that article. Cheers! Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 18:26, 16 June 2024 (UTC)
Hey,
I moved this back to draft, partially due to you moving it to main space and immediately redirecting this, as it wasn't clear why this had been done. I actually thought it was a mistake, which was partially why I moved it back!
Personally, I feel this is the worst of both worlds - the user thinks the submission has been accepted but they then wonder why they can't see it, per their post on their talk page either. Plus it makes it much harder for them to improve the article after, as you've taken away the one place they have to work on it!
Personally, AfD wasn't going to add anything here, so I've moved it back. Feel free to restore the redirect (which, IMO, you should have created without moving to mainspace), but this sort of "accept then blank" really doesn't help. Mdann52 (talk) 18:23, 16 June 2024 (UTC)
- Yes, it was confusing accepting and redirecting immediately. I reverted the redirect so that the editor can improve the article further with reminder that another editor can draftify it. The confusion is hat the new editor is confused between an article being accepted and an article being reviewed/patrolled. In a helping hand, I thought redirecting will save the article as obviously there isn't ah source from my digging to maintain a stand alone BLP. Maybe because the creator is a newbie. I understood your actions, and thanks for helping out. Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 18:32, 16 June 2024 (UTC)

'Jonathan Demme's unrealized projects' question
Hello, you've recently declined the article submission for Draft:Jonathan Demme's unrealized projects, the reason being that it "does not have sufficient content to require an article of it's own." The reason I have brought up this issue on your talk page is due to the fact that two other articles Ben Affleck's unrealized projects and Francis Lawrence's unrealized projects were today placed in the main space Category:lists of unrealized projects by artist, and I must ask, am I missing something? What do those two pages have that the Demme page doesn't have that warrants their acceptance, and what can I do to change or alter the Demme page so that it could be moved to the main space? Thank you. ZanderAlbatraz1145 (talk) 23:49, 21 June 2024 (UTC)
- Hi there, hope you're doing ok. I have moved the draft to mainspace because you brought it to my desk. I will ask you remove some unreliable sources in the article. Thanks. Ps. That other articles exist doesn't mean yours can exist as well. Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 04:42, 22 June 2024 (UTC)
- Makes sense, thank you. I appreciate you taking the time. Was just curious as to why certain pages get accepted as opposed to others. Also, which sources would you like me to remove? ZanderAlbatraz1145 (talk) 12:53, 22 June 2024 (UTC)
Declined draft
You declined draft:list of grenades for not being supported by enough reliable sources. I guess I'm under the impression that sources for lists like this one come from the individual articles for each entry. WP:LISTVERIFY says that obviously appropriate material doesn't require inline citations and I see similar stuff in most every list under Lists of weapons. Most articles in that list of lists do not cite something for each entry. I want to know if I should go add a citation to everything despite the majority of entries having their own article, or if maybe the few sources I did have from original research aren't trustworthy? SourPieMe (talk) 05:42, 22 June 2024 (UTC)
- While WP:MINREF isn't required, a good reliable source per WP:RS at least two or three is required for such non existent list. The sources in the draft is not reliable. Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 07:03, 22 June 2024 (UTC)
A bit confused.
I wanted to know if you declined the draft Nnamani Music Group because it doesn't have enough content for a stand-alone article or because the references may not be enough. Just curious. 102.88.70.137 (talk) 11:35, 23 June 2024 (UTC)
Draft: Erika Kobayashi
Hello SafariScribe, I appreciate your feedback on my article, however, I would appreciate some clarification about my sources. Some of them I know are part of the problem, and some I am certain are fine, however, there are a few I am unsure about. I really have no intention of being contentious, I just want to clarify what specifically needs to be changed. I will place my comments on the sources below, numbered as they are in the article, and would appreciate your reply. Thank you for all the work you do contributing to AfC.
Best,
esmb17
[1] - This source is from her own website, so yea its's a no-go. The information is indisputable, and I can cite it from somewhere else.
[2] - This publication is extremely meh, however, it is an interview. Are interviews not valid sources?
[3] - This is a respectable Japanese language publication focused on news, reviews, and interviews related to Japanese literature. However, it is an interview. Are interviews not valid sources?
[4] - This is from the university she graduated from listing members of her graduating class and their dissertations. This source is fine.
[5] - This is from a museums webpage archive. I'd be surprised if this was a no-go.
[6] - The information is about a publishing house she founded. Source is from it's own website. It seems fine to me for citing the mission of an organization, but I see how this could be bad.
[7] - This is a company's own record of a project she was credited on as an illustrator. I don't see why this is not valid for proof of something the subject did.
[8] - This is a respectable Japanese language publication focused on news, reviews, and interviews related to Japanese literature. Pretty sure this is fine.
[9] - This is a respectable academic institution's blurb about her work. However, because she is associated with it, is this valid?
[10] - This is a book review from a respectable (albeit not very academic) magazine. Is this an issue?
[11] - This is a literary magazine. I'm not sure why this would not be ok to use.
[12] - Yea this source sucks.
[13] - This is a respectable academic institution's blurb about her work. However, because she is associated with it, is this is valid?
[14] - Same source as 11. Esmb17 (talk) 23:38, 23 June 2024 (UTC)
- Hi @Esmb17! I hope SafariScribe won't mind if I jump in and respond to some of your questions. What you are trying to do is to establish your subject is notable in Wikipedia terms, which are not quite like Normal People In The Real World terms, so most likely when you hear 'not reliable sources' what we mean is 'these can't be used as evidence that she's notable' for whatever reason. Since I'm not an AFC reviewer like SafariScribe, I can't answer every question, I'm sorry - but I can get the majority for you.
- So a few notes: interviews can't be used as evidence of notability; you can use them in very limited ways, such as if she gave her birthdate or birthplace, things that aren't contentious in any way. Interviews are not independent of the subject, which is a vital component of reliability. Biographies or promotional information from companies she has worked for or currently works for can't be used either because they're also not independent.
- 4) says she graduated, which you could probably use as evidence that it happened, but it's not enough for notability.
- 7) does tell us that she was part of the project, but it's not significant coverage (ie the text is not mostly about her, as opposed to the project) and it's not independent (the company employed her), so this can't be used.
- 8) has a similar problem to 7), in that the text isn't about her, it's about something she created - if you were writing an article about Trinity, Trinity, Trinity, this would probably be great! But you are writing about Kobayashi, so this doesn't help with notability either. (Maybe you do want to think about writing articles about her various works - it seems like her art and writing is reviewed often and with good sources)
- 10) is also about her writing - there's some tantalizing hints of information about the author, but not enough. 11)/14) has the same problem. None can be used.
- 13) Yep, you got it - she's associated with the institution, and they're promoting something, so this also can't be used.
- I hope this has been of assistance to you, and if SafariScribe disagrees with me please do heed their words over mine - they are far more experienced and probably spent much longer assessing your draft. Best of luck with your draft - and seriously, think about whether you'd be interested in drafting articles about Kobayashi's works, because there's definitely at least a few reliable sources for them.
