Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Iraqi art, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Assyrian and Akkadian. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Images

[edit]

Except with very good reason, do not use px (e.g. |thumb|300px), which forces a fixed image width measured in pixels, disregarding the user's image size preference setting. In most cases upright=scaling_factor should be used, thereby respecting the user's base preference (which may have been selected for that user's particular devices) WP:IMAGESIZE.--Moxy- 04:39, 31 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Images make Wikipedia more informative, accessible, and professional.

In general, when working with images:
DO:
Review the image style guide and use policy.
Give context with captions and alt text.
Try to find at least one image for each article.
Find free images, or create and upload your own.
Clean up images: crop, color-correct, etc.
Use the best file format for each image.
Use objects for scale where helpful.
Place images in the section to which they are related
DON'T:
Don't upload non-free images.
Don't use images in place of tables or charts.
Don't use images or galleries excessively.
Don't add images that are not relevant.
Don't flip faces, text, or works of art.
Don't set fixed image sizes.
Don't sandwich text between two images.
Don't refer to images by their placement.
Don't place images too early or at the end of sections.

Dibis SC moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Dibis SC, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Alaa Majid requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Liz Read! Hello SonOfBabylon1 -- I've moved this to draftspace so that you can continue to work to demonstrate notability. You can edit it at Draft:Alaa Majid2. What is needed is multiple references from reliable sources (books, newspaper articles or similar) that discuss the subject in depth; they need not be in English. For example, reviews of concerts or recordings would count. If you need help, then the Teahouse is a friendly forum for new editors. Good luck! I see you've submitted it to the Articles for Creation team; hopefully someone will stop by soon to review it, but they do warn of a backlog. Hi. I reverted a change you recently made to Sukhoi Su-25 because I believe it violates WP:NPOV to describe the Islamic State or its members as "terrorist" in that context. The Islamic State article explains that "Media sources worldwide have described ISIL as a terrorist organisation", but stops short of calling it "terrorist" in Wikipedia's voice; the Su-25 article should not go further in that regard. Furthermore, for an article about an airplane to go out of its way to characterize the goals and methods of a combatant organization mentioned only incidentally also seems non-neutral. Please be more careful with sources, and avoid Wikipedia mirrors

[edit]

Hello SonOfBabylon1. In this edit you added a reference to a Wikipedia mirror. Because Wikipedia is user-generated, it is not considered a reliable source on Wikipedia. Therefore, the many websites out there copying its contents are also unreliable (see WP:CIRCULAR).

Please be careful with the sources you cite: you should always know who the publisher is and who the author is, and what their academic reputation is. If you don't pay attention to these things, the source you cite will often be unreliable. Thanks, ☿ Apaugasma (talk ) 22:10, 16 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Kleicha

[edit]

Hello there, you reverted the merging of the Kleicha and Koolocheh articles on the 26th of January 2023. I apologize for not discussing this sooner since I just noticed the revert. Your explanation for the revert was the following: "rv, unexplained and undiscussed removal of content and merging the whole article to something that "might" sound the same but is totally different." To be frank with you I would have never thought that my merge would lead to any sort of disagreement considering the fact that it is visibly obvious to the reader of both articles that they have the same name (only a difference in pronunciation) and share a very large amount of characteristics with each other. Had these things not been visibly obvious, I would have initiated a discussion before merging the articles. I hope that I can make up for my lack of initiation

Also, what exactly do you mean when you say that the two cookies "'might' sound the same"? The name of the cookies, along with many other characteristics of the cookies are obviously the same. They are both Middle Eastern cookies with main ingredients such as dates, walnuts, rosewater and saffron. They are served during holidays and even have the same name! Certainly, you can see where I am coming from here. Page 52 of "A Concise Pahlavi Dictionary" states the origin of the name, which was originally the name of a "small, round bun" in Middle Persian. Considering the immense cultural exchange between Persian and Mesopotamian civilizations, would it not be reasonable to assume that these two cookies share an origin with one another? If so, would it not be better if both cookies were discussed on one page? Perhaps you could do a better job than me in ensuring that both cookies are equally represented in the merge.--MarkParker1221 (talk) 02:40, 19 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I saw your edit on lead image of Baghdad. It look outdated. Almost all articles and lists related to Baghdad have same lead image everywhere. What's wrong in the lead image. When I came across your profile I found that you're part of Wiki Project Iraq. I would like to know if you're currently living in Baghdad or other part of Iraq, then you could contribute by uploading new images with higher resolution. Pls try and let others to make this article showing not only Baghdad but whole Iraq as once a global country with multiple images and contents Kharbaan Ghaltaan (talk) 06:54, 3 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello User:Kharbaan Ghaltaan and thank you for your comment. Regarding the images from Baghdad in particular and Iraq in general, you are right, they are outdated and there are only few of them. However, it is better to use same pictures many times than choosing a dusty image/image with lower resolution or filtered one which I have noticed you too often. Unfortunately I do not have time nor the resources to take professional images by myself. Finally, I have been active on on Iraq-related articles for some years now and unfortunately there are not better images than the used ones. SonOfBabylon1 (talk) 23:04, 17 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

But I've found few images on WikiMedia after a long search. I'll use them. Pls first check edits which I'll make. Don't immediately revise it. Ok. You also pls try. Pls tell me are you living in Iraq. Also if any Wikipedian living in Iraq, you know then pls spread this message to them, for uploading good quality pictures of Iraq, specially of modern places like skyscrapers, shopping malls, hotels, Jewish sites (specially the one which is in good condition) and palaces of Saddam for all major cities (Baghdad, Basra, Mosul, Kirkuk, Najaf, Karbala etc.). Also images at night. It'll be helpful. You can also take photos by your mobile phone, if it have good picture quality. Thank You Kharbaan Ghaltaan (talk) 08:02, 18 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Images of skyscrapers, shopping malls, luxury hotels, historic sites, religious sites, Saddam's palaces and all. Also I want images of these buildings in night. I know, you already said that you don't have time and resources. Even I'm not an Iraqi, but keen on Wikipedia, on Arab countries. So if you could help then feel free. I'm saying this because currently, I found only you as an active user on Iraq-related topics. Could you please tell me whether WikiProject Iraq and its members are active Kharbaan Ghaltaan (talk) 18:00, 18 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Why you are changing images which I have added, even if they have high resolution. Could you please explain what does a high resolution image means. Which all images you have added at the last section of photomontage is not high resolution. Pls look at below links of few users who have uploaded high resolution images
