Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Taytaynoony, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as North Florida Custom Carts, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines, and may not be retained.

There's a page about creating articles you may want to read called Your first article. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the Teahouse, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{help me}} on this page, followed by your question, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on North Florida Custom Carts requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company, corporation or organization, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Friendly advice

[edit]

Hey, I'm sorry that your family's business was deleted from Wikipedia. I understand from your post on Legacypac's talk page that you were assigned to make that page by a teacher. Unfortunately, your teacher is fundamentally misunderstanding the point of Wikipedia. We do not exist to host every piece of information about every small business or company in the world. We exist as an encyclopedia that reflects information about notable topics of broad interest, as demonstrated by reliable sources like books, newspapers, and magazines.

Unfortunately we are not able to restore your content even for s short period for grading purposes, and I would ask you not to re-post it as it will likely be quickly deleted again. As an administrator, I can email you a copy of your page if you like.

I recommend that you ask your teacher to create an account and make a post at Wikipedia:Education noticeboard, where they can ask for help designing assignments that complement Wikipedia's goals rather than conflicting with them. ♠PMC(talk) 22:31, 20 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, thank you for the helpful information. So are you saying that I could post it on the Wikipedia Education noticeboard instead? Or maybe a sister of Wikipedia such as Wikipedia Commons?

No. Please re-read what I have posted, or ask your teacher to have a look at it for you. Your teacher should make a post to the Education Noticeboard to get in contact with our Education outreach people, who may be able to help guide your teacher in designing an assignment that is in line with our goals. The assignment they have currently given you, to post information about a family business, is not in line with our goals.
You should not re-post your content anywhere on Wikipedia. It is not appropriate for Wikipedia as a project. Wikimedia Commons is for hosting free images, so it's also not appropriate for hosting your content.
As I said above, I can email you a copy if you want it. But we cannot host this content on Wikipedia anywhere. ♠PMC(talk) 23:42, 20 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop

[edit]

Taytaynoony, I made it very clear to you above that the content about your family's business is not appropriate for being hosted on Wikipedia anywhere at all. But you still tried to upload it, this time jamming it into the golf cart article here. You need to not do that again, please. If you're still worried about your assignment, have your teacher contact the education noticeboard as I instructed you above. If you persist in trying to get this content onto Wikipedia, your account will probably end up blocked. We would rather avoid blocking you, so please don't do it again. ♠PMC(talk) 13:19, 23 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to add soapboxing, promotional or advertising material to Wikipedia, as you did at Entrepreneurship, you may be blocked from editing. Grayfell (talk) 00:40, 4 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked

[edit]

I told you more than once to stop what you were doing and you opted to keep going. I have blocked your account indefinitely because it is obvious you are here to promote your family's business, not to contribute to the encyclopedia. ♠PMC(talk) 00:50, 4 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
