Re: Arabic page which I can't type here cause I don't know how to :)
lol... Hi Tony! I just thought I'd stop by and ask about an arabic language page which I posted a {{notenglish}} to a while back. I notice you CSD'd it as an A7. I assume you read Arabic. Maybe you could add some babel boxes to your Userpage, since its always good to know who speaks what, in case we need you! :D Have a great 2009, and thanks for the help. Thor Malmjursson (talk) 05:06, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for the Good Wishes, Tony. I appreciate it, and best wishes to you from myself, Mikael (my partner) and Daniel (our son). Enjoy yourself, and cheers for your work! Thor Malmjursson (talk) 05:16, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
Re: Your comment about Ratel on my talk page
From Ratel's talk page, you will no doubt be aware that Ratel has complained about the comments you left on my talk page, in reply to my note about tagging him for incivility toward you. In my opinion, his complaint is valid, and I therefore also give you a warning for placing an incivil/personal remark concerning this user. WP:CIVIL applies to everyone, Tony. Sorry, but rules are rules. Thor Malmjursson (talk) 18:59, 1 January 2009 (UTC)

Please!! I know that Wikipedia is not a message board, but Ancestry is too exprenseive for me to afford and I have been trying for so long to find my family!! I will continue to add onto my website, including a family history of Donahers! Once I gather enough information my article will explain my family history, and the history of my ancestor's homeland.
Thank you, Sarah Donaher Donaher (talk) 18:31, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
What are your criteria then? How is putting the history of a family on Wikipedia any different than putting the history of a county? It is unfair and i should be given a chance to find my family and to share with the world my history. Please, Sarah Donaher (talk) 18:39, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
I understand that it is not a message board. It will not be. I am trying to gather enough information so that I can write a valid article on the Donaher family and on Ireland. Will you please give me enough time and I will, right now, add information about Ireland. I really want to try this and hopefully find my family.
Please understand,
Sarah 75.191.191.15 (talk) 18:46, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
Fine, I will change my article so that it does not appear from my point of view. I will make it about the family history of Donahers.
Sarah Donaher (talk) 18:51, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
Would it be acceptable if I wrote an article titled Donaher on my user page? Then, once I have enough information and it appears as an encyclpedia article and not a message board, could I move it into the main thing?

Bill Ewing news....
IMDB finally accepted the sourced merge of the different Bill Ewing listings that I submitted to them. I have now returned the IMDB external link as it now includes ALL his projects. Thanks for your input at the AfD. Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 06:54, 13 January 2009 (UTC)

eng-tips.com
What do I need to do to make my eng-tips.com article non-promotional? I have added three references to articles to help establish notability. 71.197.153.187 (talk) 05:31, 16 January 2009 (UTC)

The copyright policy isn't very clear; anything that's taken from one source is bound to resemble the original source, but so long as sentences aren't copied word for word, I wouldn't think it could be a copyright violation. I browsed through most of the pages in the CSD category and picked the one that really didn't look like it belonged. That doesn't mean that I don't think the article needs a lot of work; I just don't think it would be fair to throw out the efforts that have put into it by the different people that have been involved so far. Victoria Perelet doesn't look speediable to me (and I therefore removed the template), although it does look like AfD fodder. -- Hoary (talk) 01:49, 19 January 2009 (UTC)

{{helpme}}I don't understand why you keep marking my article as vandalism. Please tell me why before marking it again. If it's easier for you, you can email me at XXXXXXXX, Which I will respond to faster. But please tell me what you want me to do to make this article appopriate for wikipedia, I really am not trying to just waste space or fill this site with stupid information, this word is not just a quickly made up word and there are many people who use this word and understand it. You said an article already exists with the correct title? The obvious spelling didn't find it and I can't Google it. What article did you mean? - Mgm|(talk) 11:03, 22 January 2009 (UTC)
dude dont delete the ATRIXO article! Please!! It was a real band in Chicago, I know because I've seen them LIVE, plus they had a song on 'LOCAL 101' released by a local rock station. I don't understand why people keep deleting this article. It was a real band in Chicago, you can hear their music on MySpace and I met one of the band members a couple of times. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Szymon81 (talk • contribs) 06:12, 23 January 2009 (UTC)

Which references do you disagree with, and which clauses of WP:RS do they violate? Nathan McKnight -- Aelffin (talk) 13:11, 23 January 2009 (UTC)
- Reply to my talk page: That kind of formatting is excessively "codey". I prefer more transparent coding so as to avoid pushing new editors away from Wikipedia. Nathan McKnight -- Aelffin (talk) 13:26, 23 January 2009 (UTC)
- Reply to my talk page: Well, the result is consistent with the Chicago Manual, but the coding is messy by most journalistic standards. I'm a fan of WYSIWYG. Nathan McKnight -- Aelffin (talk) 13:40, 23 January 2009 (UTC)

Ravenbeauty
Hi Tony, I am new to Wikipedia and wonder what I did wrong? I wrote a well thought out article on soap maven Ravenbeauty. She is a very well known entity in the online community of soap fans. She doesn't charge fans for her weekly columns so there was nothing to gain by creating an entry for her. I had no idea I was promoting anything. We were all discussing how someone should start a page for her on a soap site where she was being discussed. The information was not taken from any other place. It was written by me, I did try to include links to her site and the sites she writes for (all free) to show that she is a real entity but those were unacceptable so what do I do? I thought it was actually well written and honest. May I resubmit? Your help would be greatly appreciated :)

Vandwellers
Thanks for reverting the tag removal on Vandwellers. I have decided to take the PROD off and send it to AfD instead. The author is clearly very angry about my actions (see the talk page) and I want to give the article a chance to be commented on by more people so that it gets a fair hearing and doesn't turn into a me-vs-him edit war. If you want to comment, the AfD is here: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Vandwellers. --DanielRigal (talk) 12:23, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
Speedy deletion tag
I took it off because I felt the article could conceivably be retrieved. Don't worry, if it hasn't been expanded and improved in a day or so, I'll delete it anyway, tag or no tag. I just think that very new users - and this one's obviously a child - shouldn't be frightened off immediately unless they are blatant vandals. Deb (talk) 22:02, 25 January 2009 (UTC)
Lebaz
Hi, I know this is the web and people feel removed from each other and anonymous, but whether you think it or not I don't like being called a puppet! :) I'm active in design field and for those who have spent time in the design world, Lebaz is definitely notable as a mover in the globalised design space. Mueslieater (talk) 19:20, 27 January 2009 (UTC)
You may be right that this college player is not notable to be included as an article, but I thought a speedy deletaion was too drastic, and that some time for debate should be allowed.Esasus (talk) 01:33, 28 January 2009 (UTC)
Urogyn
I don't know anything about urogynecology except what I googled but I fixed the article. Please remove the speedy delete. If you wish, you can remove the offending India parts. Ipromise (talk) 06:42, 29 January 2009 (UTC)
I added some stuff that is not a copyright violation. It is now a stub. Ipromise (talk) 06:49, 29 January 2009 (UTC)
Notability, not content determine if it's an article. So an article about cardiology stays even if someone only defines it. With time, people will add stuff. It certainly is no longer a speedy delete. If it is a AFD, then please co-nominate all the other specialties in medicine. Ipromise (talk) 06:56, 29 January 2009 (UTC)
That's a better tag! Look at the Mayo Clinic link and I am sure we can do a better job than they did. But even what they wrote is good for an article...shows that the subject is worth writing about. Please remember to assume good faith when dealing with other editors, which you did not do on User talk:Willydick#Punching Mercury. Thank you. Redfarmer (talk) 03:20, 30 January 2009 (UTC)
- Specifically, this caution is because you gave the user two minutes to respond before you accused them of ignoring your question. This seems a bit unreasonable and not assuming good faith, especially since it would seem the user's first language is not English and they claim to be new to AfD.
- You may want to rethink the caution. The reason I gave him only two minutes is he removed my question from his page without answering me. In my eyes, this was not good faith on his part, but rather an attempt to ignore me. If you review the timeline, I undid his removal and asked him why he was choosing to ignore me by removing the comment. You may also want to review my interactions with others to see if I exhibit this trait. Additionally, I had reviewed some of his edits and found evidence that they were reversible as borderline vandalism.
- I also questioned his not speaking English. Other than his comment that he would have to learn to speak English, I saw no evidence of his lack of language skills.

Re: Rrs-studio
Do you happen to know Italian? Are you sure it's just promotion? Elm-39 - T/C 19:14, 30 January 2009 (UTC)
- Seems like less of a promotion and more of a lack of notable sources. Unfortunately, it's a foreign language, so finding sources might be difficult. But some articles stay here based on German to Japanese-only sources, so who knows. This definitely not CsD material, though. Try an AfD. Elm-39 - T/C 19:49, 30 January 2009 (UTC)
We Are The Audience
I really didn't think I was vandalising when editing this page, but if I did, I apologise, and if you could take off the speedy deletion thing on the page, that would be great, because I only created it due to it not existing, when this band has released a single and everything! Thanks, and apologies again! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Anyonessoundtrack (talk • contribs) 21:03, 30 January 2009 (UTC)
