Stuart Bascombe moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Stuart Bascombe, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Hughesdarren (talk) 21:21, 17 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I am touching base to make sure that the draft is waiting to be seen. I has been about a month. But just want to make sure I did the right thing for it to be reviewed and moved to main space.

Thank you. Vannessajg (talk) 00:40, 26 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you so much! Vannessajg (talk) 11:27, 29 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

As you can see, acceptance is just the start. We accept drafts when we believe that they have a better than 50% chance of surviving a deletion discussion. As normal humans we can be mistaken. Time will tell here. Fiddle Faddle 21:38, 30 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Yes I see. However, I welcome the feedback good or bad, because it is all a learning experience and helps me going forward. Thank you for your input. --Vannessajg (talk) 21:43, 30 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Vannessajg, the important thing is not to get downhearted nor upset. We all have articles deleted that were dear to us. The best editors here started with disappointments. Like you are, they learned. I have an essay that may help you to see where folk are coming from. Fiddle Faddle 21:52, 30 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Faddle, the articles was accepted as Keep. Thanks you for recommending it in the first place. Vannessajg (talk) 04:28, 20 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Unspecified source/license for File:Honey Cone Promo Pic1972.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Honey Cone Promo Pic1972.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time after the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|cc-by-sa-4.0}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

File permission problem with File:Melissa Haizlip photo.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Melissa Haizlip photo.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Animalparty! Deletion pending for File:Knox ken.JPG

  • If you have not submitted (or forwarded) a statement of permission, please send it immediately to permissions-en@wikimedia.org and let us know at the OTRS noticeboard that you have done so.
  • If you have already sent this message, it is possible that there was a problem receiving it. Please re-send it to permissions-en@wikimedia.org and let us know at the OTRS noticeboard that you have done so.

If we don't hear from you within one week, the file will be deleted. If we can help you, please feel free to ask at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 15:31, 2 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ron Kellum moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Ron Kellum, is not suitable as written to remain published. There appears to be either a WP:UPE or WP:COI issue. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where it can remain while you address the UPE/COI concern. When you have made the necessary steps regarding COI/UPE, and the article meets WP:GNG and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Do not re-add to mainspace yourself. Onel5969 TT me 16:48, 9 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Please explain what is the specific issue. I looked up the codes that you listed and I don't see how it applies to me. I am not and was not paid to create Ron Kellum's page nor any other page I created and/or edited. It is insulting to me to have anyone think I am being paid, when I am donating my time and services. Ron isn't a client, friend or family member. I thought I referenced/sourced what I wrote. I will go back over it and check the article. Vannessajg (talk) 17:56, 9 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • I reformatted the article, and removed some content. Although, I have not been editing long, I did create about 17 pages, and edited over 100, so I thought I was using the same format on Ron Kellum's article that I did on the others. If you can review the draft page and let me know what is needed I would appreciate it. For the record, I had started watching the episodes of The Amazing Race and when I went to look up more information on Ron Kellum, I noticed the he didn't have a Wikipedia page, while almost all other contestant did. And, that is how I started with that article. Vannessajg (talk) 04:01, 10 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Need Help for an article

[edit]

Good morning, I started creating pages during the shut-down. Mainly about "Old School" recording artists, since Classic Soul/R&B music from the 60s, 70s and 80s are my passion and work. The problem I am having is that I would like to create a page for the newly established Atlantic City Walk of Fame, but I am one of the founders of it. If the Atlantic City Walk of Fame meets Wikipedia's requirements of noteworthy, would someone else like to create the article? Vannessajg (talk) 11:16, 19 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The {{help me}} template isn't a great way to solicit that sort of help; if you want to request an article be written, you should do so at WP:RA. If you want more help, change the {{help me-helped}} back into a {{help me}}, stop by the Teahouse, or Wikipedia's live help channel, or the help desk to ask someone for assistance. Primefac (talk) 12:30, 19 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable non-free use File:You and I bi.JPG

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:You and I bi.JPG. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of non-free use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of non-free use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{Di-replaceable non-free use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable non-free use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:39, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
