TJT National Cricket League

Non-notable brand-new sports organization. Amounts to a local cricket league with all games played at one ground. Does not even rise to the level of a minor league. Only one reference given; can't find anything else of consequence. Vague mentions on discussion page of possible television and such, and that this is a "major work in progress" - which means it isn't notable yet. Comment: It should have actually never been deleted via PROD, as the author (or anyone else) contesting it on the talk page is sufficient to avoid PROD deletion. The deleting admin forgot to check for talk page comments before deleting. Keep - I'll admit I don't have a clear understanding of the situation, but the league does appear to pass WP:N as it has received significant RS coverage at least 3 times (only two are required): [1][2][3]. It also doesn't sound like a local league from the coverage and some of the players from Canada's national team joined the league apparently. Granted I'm such these players aren't nearly at the skill level of even minor league players in India, but they are presumably the best Canada has and wouldn't be playing in some lame local league. This press release enforces the point that not just a local league and is the best Canada has to offer. It also was just formed, so more press coverage is likely to occur at some point in the near future. So in conclusion, unless I am misunderstanding the situation, I think the league should have a page. --ThaddeusB (talk) 01:58, 20 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Comment: All three of the references you cited are from the same media outlet and the same writer, so I would not call that three different sources. It also concerns me that the references are from a special-interest outlet as opposed to a general-interest newspaper such as the Toronto Star or Toronto Sun. I would also give more credence to a cricket-specific source such as Cricinfo (I checked it — nothing) or Wisden (nothing there either). I also give press releases little or no credence — if you saw as many as I have in my news media career, you wouldn't either. - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 04:28, 20 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Weak Keep CricketArchive is covering their schedule, It's a regular league under Canada Cricket. I wouldn't suggest articles for the teams/players, but the league probably scrapes through. Delete: I'm with Realkyhick; I see there are sources, of course, but are there significant, reliable sources? Not even multiple sources, according to Google News, which has ONE hit (from the aforementioned South Asian Focus website) for a league that started play two weeks ago and which plays all its matches on a single pitch. Now I know cricket is very big among Indian ex-pats - there are several thousand in my city, and they play cricket regularly at my neighborhood beach - but you'd think it was big enough to merit as much as a single mention in the Toronto Star sports section.
