Wikipedia:Meetup/Naga 4

The Fourth Filipino Wikipedians meet-up was held at The Park, Crown Hotel in Naga City on April 15, 2012 (Sunday), 5:00pm - 6:00pm.

1. Parasurat Bikolnon

   a. MOA between WMPH and Parasurat Bikolnon
   b. MOA may contain the proposed collaborations:

       i. Writing contest for biographies of writers and profiling of centenarians in Bikol

       ii. Pasurat asks if WMPH will possibly fund prizes for the contest.

       iii. The writing contest will be lauched between May-December 2012.

   c. Literary workshops – promoting Wikipedia at the same time you are improving the quality of the writer.

2. Ateneo Library Association

   a. They will assign a member to each of the Bikol article.
   b. Possible Open Web Day at Ateneo de Naga on June-July

3. Bikol Region Librarians

   (They were not present during the meetup.)
   Post-meetup:
   a. There was an event last April 18 and Irvin Sto. Tomas was able to promote Wikipedia.
   b. Irvin is asking the help of Jen Marquez for drafting a project proposal for the Bikol Librarians.  He plans an editing contest and the prize is laptop for the library.

4. Bikol Komikero

   a. Noel Cervantes, a comics artist, will apply for a WMPH membership.
   b. Noel  have his indie comics entitled PGP (for more information check the FHM April 2012 issue, page 26) and he plans to incorporate Wiki in the story.  In connection with this, Noel will present his ideas and project proposal on the Annual Convention on May 26 either during or after the convention.
   c. Noel can help on improving our promotional materials.

5. First Open Web Day will be conducted by Jojit and then, succeeding workshops will be done by the Bikol Community.

6. Irvin is asking that the WMPH Board revisit (??) Canaman Municipal Library project propsal as stated here: http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedia_Philippines/Projects/Bikol_Community_Projects And check if it is feasible.

7. Other post-meetup discussions:

   a. Irvin is asking for more promotional materials (i.e. brochures), WLM posters, and other giveaways.  Perhaps this will be included in the budget for the Bikol Community Projects.
   b. The community needs a laptop for presentation on events.
   c. Mrs. Lourdes David, Director of Rizal Library of ADMU, wants to tie-up with us.  Perhaps, she can be WMPH member.
