mesopleuron (plural mesopleura)

1. The lateral surface of the mesothorax

     In most chalcidoids, the mesopleura have a groove for the femora, but encyrtids lack this groove (as do the signiphorids, tanaostigmatids, some aphelinids, and some eupelmids).
