It's mostly just a matter of personal preference. I read a lot of VNs myself, but I actually prefer kinetic VNs since I tend to get choice paralysis (I have literally dropped VNs before because I got to a choice point, didn't know what to pick, and then closed the game and never returned to it lol)
Since I tend to write stories that appeal to my own tastes first and foremost, I mostly write linear stories since I like them more. Rain and the Wolf was an exception since I wanted to write a story with a few grim bad endings, but I also wanted there to be a possibility of a fairytale happily ever after romance; the story was conceived as having multiple ends from the get-go. Most of my VNs aren't planned with any branching in mind, however, and I also think I'm a bit better at writing structured linear stories than branching ones.
I have been experimenting a little more with VNs that have choices and multiple endings lately, however, so I might make more branching BL in the future. I'll have to see how I feel!

i didn't make an android version for this one since i think some parts of the code wouldn't work nicely on android and i'd need to edit some stuff... i don't think it'd take a very long time but i've been focusing on other things
i might add an android version to this at some point, i'll write a devlog to announce it if i do! and thank you! <3
Tysm! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
I did think it would be fun to do a little more in the Lonely universe but I didn't think I had anything else to really explore with the three main LIs in Lonely (at least, not in the same setting), so I wound up doing something a bit different...
I wasn't really sure if people would vibe with it since I mostly saw people saying they wanted to read more about the princess haha but I'm glad it was still interesting!
And I love the music in this VN too, it's so good!!! It's one of my fav parts about the whole VN haha, I enjoyed listening to it a lot while I was coding the story together <3
thank you very much, i'm glad you liked it! i was a bit worried people would think it's too short or too underwhelming compared to lonely, especially since there's only 2 characters and not as mnay art assets, so i'm glad it wasn't the case...!
(i also kept this story in my drafts for like 6 months wondering if i should actually release it or not haha so ig it's good i did...)
and yes it is true love... medea and rosette belong together haha ;;
Tysm for your kind comment, it's appreciated!
It didn't get too many downloads but I'm glad a few people checked it out at least!
For these missing endings, I don't recall exactly what correlates to what, but you get them by:
- hitting max thirst with Mayu (can do it on any day) while having max affection with Sumire
- not having enough money to pay your rent on Halloween while having max affecton with Sumire
- not having enough money to pay your rent on Halloween while having max affection with Juriel
You can find all of my yuri VNs on Itchio here!
If you only want free VNs, then Winter Fragments and Shut-in Vampire are probably good picks. They're both free yuri VNs which are very cute and light-hearted without much drama.
If you're alright with commercial stories, The Fairy's Song or My Dear Prince would be good (The Fairy's Song is one of my fav yuri VNs I've written so I'm a bit biased towards it haha)
This story contains less art than Lonely because it's shorter and has fewer characters so I didn't think it needed more CGs.
I'm not sure if I'll write more about these characters, I'm leaning towards probably not. And I've written a large number of stories featuring a lot of other characters already, you can find them if you check my Itchio or Steam developer accounts.
I probably won't make a full guide because there are too many endings (and I am working on too many other things), but each girl has 2 endings, a good and a bad end, which you unlock by talking to them 4 times and raising enough money to pay your rent by the deadline. The good and bad ends are determined by the choices you make talking to them, and if you're consistently nice or consistently mean.
There's also a bunch of other shorter bad endings which make up the rest (eg letting your stress get too high, letting your thirst get too high, not being able to pay your rent on time, and then a bunch of permutations on these mostly based on your affection with sumire and juriel. several of the generic bad ends have alternate versions if you're at max relationship w/ sumire or juriel specifically).
Aaa that's OK! I think it's fair to tag it as BL given the content, even crushes etc should count I think...
I mean, I also tag my own one-sided yuri romances as yuri haha
I just think is the 'love' part of the 'boys' love' that can make it feel a little funny when darker stuff gets tagged with it haha
I think this VN is really pretty, the art is truly gorgeous. Thank you for sharing it!
There's something very funny about this being tagged as containing 'boys' love content', since I don't think the content present is all that loving... Wouldn't boys' hate be more accurate? lol
Well I guess it depends on whose POV you're viewing the story from (and you can play as a male MC I guess...)
The art for this is absolutely gorgeous. I love both of the character designs, and there's so much attention to detail. They're both so expressive (well, Evan less so haha), and it's really nice how the main menu changes after each ending. It's such a nice attention to detail!
I love the UI, it's really polished and pleasant to look at, and the music you picked out is perfect too.
As for the story, it's really interesting and innovative. I've never read a VN where the MC dies at the start haha, the way the choices are framed is really interesting too. I think the writing itself is a little spotty (the narration swaps between past and present tense a bit, and there's some unnatural phrasing which made me do a double take), but I never had any issues comprehending what was happening. The two main boys are consistently written and quite charming, too.
It was a very polished experience, you did a great job! I really love the aesthetics of this one, it's a real standout among all of the Spooktober entries I've read!
this is so well-written! the writing is very descriptive and pleasant to read, with very good pacing which never drags or gets dull. you did a great job setting up nathaniel's character as this kind, gentle, well-meaning soul in the first half of the chapter, which makes his switch in behaviour seem all the more unsettling. it feels like we really get to know him before he changes, so it made it very effective.
i love yoyo's inner monologue too, there's some really funny quips in there ("so much egg on my face i could be a b'n'b" is particularly good haha)
the music is great, i love the filtered photo backgrounds, and i'm very fond of anything that uses unsettling and creepy chistian symbolism, especially when it feels nuanced here and not all ~ooh creepy~
this is a gem of a vn and i'll be looking forward to reading more of it, especially since it ended on a bit of a cliffhanger!
