Very low fps

Hello, I am having an issue where my fps is extremely low. In the menus it'll be around 50-60 but when you get in game it drops to around 20-30. I tried lowering the resolution but the fps is the same whether I'm in 720p or 800x600. I also tried lowering the graphics all the way down and using nvidia control panel to tell the game to use my gpu but those didn't work either. The game is saying in its performance metrics that it's using my gpu already. What can I do to fix this?

Here are my specs:

i7-6700HQ Notebook 39.6 cm (15.6") Full HD Intel® Core™ i7 8 GB DDR3L-SDRAM 1000 GB Hybrid-HDD NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 960M

Thank you! Sorry for the low performance though! The game is very CPU-heavy - once you're in the game, open the Settings menu and try setting the Physics Framerate to Low, that might help get you a framerate boost.

Other than that, you can try closing any other application that is eating up CPU resources. I'm still trying to find the best way to optimize the game so low framerates will be common unfortunately, sorry.

I understand, Im looking forward to playing future builds with more progress made on the optimization, because my PC is really bad unfortunately. Once again great job, I really like the game.

In case it helps, I turned down the physics framerate to the lowest setting and it brought my framerate up to around 40. Ill try to let you know if I notice anything else
