Pro Deer Hunting 64
A downloadable game for Windows
Jed shows you the ropes on how to become a pro deer hunter in this lost retro game. Just be careful, something in the forest doesn't want you there.
A short horror game disguised as a hunting game. Explore two different forest environments, using your map and other gear to find and hunt deer. After nabbing one, bring it back to the truck so you can display your kill on the trophy wall.

fun hunting game. I appreciate how you make any horror elements completely optional without sacrificing a good time. i think the only other game that did that was that vr game. "duck season". also, it is a rather solid experience in it's own right
This was the first game on Itch to have properly frightened me. I had sifted through tons and tons of games but none of them worked like this did. Thank you, sincerely.
I appreciate the comment, thanks for playing, glad you found it spooky
Thanks for playing, enjoyed your play-through
Thank you for watching glad you enjoyed it.
Just happened across this while researching retro-style UE games and was very pleasantly surprised.
The pacing was great, and I believe you struck a strong balance between hinting at what to do next and giving the player room to explore.
I also respect how gracefully the spooky elements were handled. They kept me on edge without resorting to cheap, loud jump-scares.
Very good game, I look forward to what you do next.
Thanks so much for playing and the nice review. Glad you enjoyed!
Thanks, enjoyed the play through!
Why thank you for wandering through that. Much thanks fren.
Nice game, i need to replay it offstream because i didn't manage to find out "something i needed to find" at the end (avoiding spoilers). It made me feel very paranoid tho, gg to the dev
Thanks for playing, hopefully you get to see the rest of it!
wow, this game made me feel paranoid from beginning to end, and overall was really scary!
i loved it so much, and i just wish it was longer tbh but other than that it's a very short but also very fun experience that's absolutely worth your time!
(edit: just fixing some stupid grammar mistakes i made bc i had a brain fart while typing this)
Thanks so much! Yeah if you get lucky and follow the right sequence it can be short. I'd glad you enjoyed.
Is it just me, or did the image for this game change? I don't remember the blood and fly.
Thanks for playing and finding a bug!
The game saves your progress, so if you play one more round you could possibly see the ending.
These types of games were my childhood and you've done a pretty good job at replicating them. I've wanted to make a horror game like this that accurately recreates old hunting games with a horror twist.
I don't have much interest hunting in real life, but I played so many old hunting/fishing games too. I'd love to see what you'd come up with if you made a horror game based on this genre. Thanks for playing!
I've never had interest hunting in real life either, but hunting games have always appealed to me for some reason.
Thanks for the playthrough, very entertaining, glad you enjoyed.
Foreboding, well stylized, with a genuinely entertaining end
Impressive game. Really it have a n64 atmosphere.
Thanks! It was fun to make.
nice retro
Thanks for playing!
LOVED the game, and how you implemented the horror. Just wondering if there is a definitive ending, or does it keep looping? Thank you!
Did a playthrough with no commentary on it:
Thanks, I appreciate it! Yes, it does just loop.
