Inside the Castle, Doom enacts a healing spell on Wiccan. He explains to the young boy that somehow, Wanda is repressing her memory and her powers. She also came to him on behalf of her people and amazingly, they fell in love. He then offers Wiccan asylum and protection from the Avengers, or stay as his prisoner; he also adds that his spell has relieved Wiccan of his powers.

Magneto uses his powers to cause the various aircrafts to tumble about in the air. The Young Avengers and Quicksilver take advantage of this to try to storm the castle, only to be confronted by the Avengers.

Synopsis for "The Children's Crusade - Part V"

Reprint of the 1st story from
Avengers: The Children's Crusade #5

As the battle in Latveria rages on, Iron Lad has returned to assist the Young Avengers. He gathers his teammates and tells them that he has found Wiccan and the Scarlet Witch. Speed contradicts that claim, having been searching all around the city.

At the moment, Doctor Doom is attempting to kill Wiccan, believing that he had escaped, contact his allies and kidnap Wanda. Wanda explains that he didn't do any of that and she was more interested in what she believes may be her true identity. More over, she is concerned as to why he is afraid of the truth.

Magneto then pounces on Doom, giving the opening for Wiccan and Wanda to escape and meet up with the Young Avengers. As their pursuers bear down on them, Iron Lad escapes with his friends into the timestream. Doom then voices his concern that as of now, Wanda could potentially alter the timestream, past or future.

In transit in the timestream, Stature requests Iron Lad to bring them back to the day when Jack of Hearts exploded so that they can undo all the mistakes. Patriot says that even if she saves her father, then she'll only create a paradox or divergent timeline where there's two of her. Iron Lad assures them that they won't be changing the past, for he has developed paradox inhibiting technology.

They arrive at Avengers Mansion, in the past. While they help Wanda look around in an effort to regain her memory, Iron Lad, Vision and Stature talk. Iron Lad informs Vision that his other iteration is still married to the Scarlet Witch.

Stature then becomes distracted by the sight of her father, Scott Lang, the second Ant-Man. Despite Iron Lad's assurances that he can't see them, he is proven wrong, as Stature runs up to her father. Unfortuantely, undead Jack of Hearts has arrived. As the Young Avengers hurry Ant-Man away, Jack tries pleading with Wanda to not make him do this.

The Young Avengers then return to the present with Wanda and Ant-Man before Jack exploded. Iron Lad is more confused as to how they returned when his power levels haven't recharged. The answer is Wanda, who now remembers who she is.

Synopsis for 3rd story

Somewhere in the future, on the planet Moord, Iron Lad is battling his future self, Kang the Conqueror, vowing that he plans to undo every one of his conquests and every trace of his existence throughout time. Kang smugly states that every moment he spends in the timestream brings him closer to become him. Just before Iron Lad can land the killing blow, he is stopped by older versions of the Young Avengers; interestingly, Cassie Lang/Stinger, has become Kang's lover, as he is Iron Lad, while the Vision has let go of his emotions.

However, Iron Lad notices that Wiccan is missing. He asks his friends where the Avengers are. Kang answers that the Avengers are hunting them throughout the timestream and won't stop until they're dead. Kang explains that years ago, they attempted to save the Scarlet Witch led to war with the Avengers, forcing them to escape through time itself, which resulted in the genocide of the Badoon. Iron Lad disagrees with their callousness and states that this isn't the reason they became Young Avengers.

In a flashback somewhere in the past, Iron Lad's newly assembled Young Avengers are battling holographic versions of the Sinister Six underneath Avengers Mansion. However, most of the team is more interested in going out and actually fighting villains than training. Iron Lad freezes upon seeing Kang, but Hulkling realizes that it's actually Mysterio. Seeing that he need to better prepared for Kang, Iron Lad tells his team to take the night off but everyone insists he come with them.

Unfortunately, the night didn't turn out to be so normal. They spot Electro and battle him. Iron Lad manages to use his armor's abilities to absorb and regenerate energy to overpower Electro. But when they assumed he was defeated, Electro gets back up, takes them by surprise and escapes. Though Iron Lad insists they go after Electro, the other notice a building on fire and race to the rescue. Subsequently, the Daily Bugle was unaware of their fight with Electro and the newly dubbed Young Avengers were put on the front page.

Back to the future, Iron Lad insists that protecting the innocents is why they became Young Avengers. Kang adds that allowing Electro to escape caused the breakout at the Raft prison. Iron Lad defends that event brought the Avengers back together. Kang cynically adds that included the belief that they should eliminate anyone in the way, including Wiccan. When he went to Latveria to save the Witch, the Avengers killed them both, forcing Kang to save his team.

Refusing to let that happen, Iron Lad time travels to save Wiccan. Unbeknownst to him, Wiccan is alive and has become the new Sorcerer Supreme. In fact, Kang lied to him and had set events in motion that will transformer Iron Lad into Kang and destroy the Avengers forever.
