"Babylon used to be right there. If we ever had any real home on this planet, that was it."
―Sprite to Makkari[src]

Babylon is a historical ancient city in Mesopotamia and the capital of the Babylonian Empire, located in present-day Iraq.

History[]

Ancient Times[]

While on their mission to Earth, the Eternals fended off the Deviants from breaking into Babylon. Gilgamesh protected the Ishtar Gate from Enkidu while, Thena, Makkari, Kingo, and Ikaris, took care of the rest. Following the battle, Ajak communicated with Arishem the Judge above the Domo in the Hanging Gardens of Babylon.[1]

Crimson Bands of Cyttorak[]

The Crimson Bands of Cyttorak were forged by blacksmiths in Babylon in c. 900 BC, and were later collected by the Masters of the Mystic Arts who stored them in the New York Sanctum.[2]

Battle of Babylon[]

In 575 B.C., Babylon was attacked by a Deviant threat at the Ishtar Gate. The Deviants were defeated by Ikaris, Thena, Gilgamesh, Kingo and Makkari.[1]

Ruins[]

When Babylon fell into ruins, it was buried in the sands, dusted over for thousands of years, and eventually became modern-day Iraq.[1]

Alternate Universes[]

Eternal Adventures[]

In an alternate universe, Phastos introduced the first plow to Babylon, helping them to grow food while Sersi made plants appear. A Deviant attacked Babylon, so Gilgamesh, Thena, and Ikaris fought it while a farmer cowered near the monster.

Thousands of years later, Sprite created an illusion of the Eternals' influence in Babylon in order to teach a curious human about the Eternals.[3]
