Stan Lee (December 28, 1922 – November 12, 2018), also known as Stan "The Man" Lee, born Stanley Martin Lieber, was one of the first and most prolific writers / creators of the Marvel Universe. Along with artists such as Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko, Lee co-created the Fantastic Four, Ant-Man, Hulk, Spider-Man, Thor, Iron Man, Nick Fury, Wasp, the Avengers, the X-Men, Scarlet Witch, Daredevil, Black Widow, Hawkeye, S.H.I.E.L.D., Peggy Carter, Black Panther and many other well-known characters.

He portrayed the Watcher Informant in Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America: The First Avenger, The Avengers, Iron Man 3, Thor: The Dark World, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Ant-Man, Captain America: Civil War, Doctor Strange, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Thor: Ragnarok, Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War, Ant-Man and the Wasp and Captain Marvel. He also portrayed an alternate Watcher Informant in Avengers: Endgame.

He also portrayed Debonair Gentleman in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Man on Bench in Agent Carter, Irving Forbush in Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Defenders and The Punisher, and Limo Driver in Runaways.

He also portrayed Stanlee in Deadpool & Wolverine via archived imagery

He appeared in the music video Guardians Inferno.

He portrayed his evil clone Lan Stee/Mastermind in the promotional webcast Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: Double Agent.

He was interviewed for the documentaries Marvel 75 Years: From Pulp to Pop! and Captain America: 75 Heroic Years.

The first tribute documentary for him, Celebrating Marvel's Stan Lee, aired on ABC on December 20, 2019. The second tribute documentary for him, Stan Lee, was released on Disney+ on June 16, 2023.

Archive footage of Stan Lee from Thor: Ragnarok was used in the Assembled episode The Making of Loki.

Cameos[]

Lee played small parts in every Marvel Cinematic Universe film and TV series with Avengers: Endgame serving as his final cameo appearance. The film cameos were revealed in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 to be the same person, the Watcher Informant, while the Netflix series cameos were Irving Forbush and the remaining television series cameos were all separate characters.
