The Avengers: Iron Man Mark VII is an interactive comic released by Marvel Custom Solutions and Colantotte in 2012.

Synopsis[]

Explore the history of Tony Stark and the evolution of the Iron Man Suits from the Iron Man 1 and Iron Man 2 films - this video of the interactive comic explores the various versions and attributes of the Iron Man armor as Tony battles villains from the films. After each battle we experience Tony in his lab with J.A.R.V.I.S. improving on his suits, culminating in Tony's realization that the Colantotte bracelets have a role to play in the most recent version of his armor.

Plot[]

Tony Stark recalls the history of the Iron Man armor, starting with the Mark I, designed to be a safe casing for the Arc Reactor in his chest as well as help him escape from the Ten Rings base in Afghanistan. These events led to him creating the Mark II Iron Man armour so that nobody could ever use his weapons for evil intent again. On his first flight in the Mark II, he encountered a dangerous icing problem that froze the suit mid-flight. This lead to the creation of the Mark III, which solved the icing problem and perfected repulsor-based flight tech, as well as introducing the smart-targeting system Stark used to save civilians during the Battle of Gulmira.

Though the Mark III performed well in Gulmira, Stark nearly failed to reach his assistant, Pepper Potts, when fighting Obadiah Stane in Los Angeles. This prompted Stark to work on upgrading the suit's delivery system. His first idea, designed for the Mark IV, involved a metal casing around the armour that would drop from the sky. However, when testing it, the design did not succeed, causing Stark to go back to the drawing board. When at the Stark Expo in 2010, this problem would still plague him. Stark would recall what his father, Howard, used to say: "At Stark Industries, we never stop innovating."

Stark solved the suit delivery problem with the Mark V, which could be broken down into a briefcase-sized bundle at the expense of having less armaments. Half an hour before flying to Monaco, Stark would finish assembling the Mark V just in case he ended up needing it, though J.A.R.V.I.S. would doubt the Iron Man armor's necessity there. Stark would be proven right when Whiplash attacked him in Monaco, leading to Stark defeating him with the Mark V. Later, James Rhodes stole the Mark II and would fight Stark in his mansion. Stark would recall that he preferred working with Rhodes, like he did when he and Rhodes, who now wore an upgraded version of the Mark II, took down Whiplash's Hammer Industries drones. During that fight, Stark would introduce the Mark VI and its 200-petawatt "turn and burn" lasers.

Stark and Pepper Potts would have a date in Stark's lab, where Potts said that she learned long ago Stark lived in the lab and so it was the only place she would succeed in having a date with him. To celebrate the occasion, Potts gave Stark a gift: two Colantotte bracelets, magnets that can keep magnetic power permanently. Stark remembered world-famous golfers and athletes wearing the same bracelets. The next day, Stark would investigate the bracelets more, and they would inspire him to create his next armor, which would use the bracelets to locate Stark and form the armor around him.
